Closed - It's okay, if just for today

[It wasn't the attention that made her feel uneasy, as she was quiet used to that, but the fact that the crowd would continue to grow. It was strange enough that NPCs began to show interest in her but she waved that off as them choosing the best looking person in school for Valentine's Day.

Now, she really was beginning to get worried, though she wasn't showing too many outward signs. In the middle of the school yard, she stood, seemingly to be stuck in the middle of the group. Two of boys seemed to be facing each other now, rather than each other.]

I-if you want to fight, just do it but it's not like I would ever even bother with either of you!

[Her voice is loud, if a bit shaky.]

[It's been quite a hectic day, really, and it seems like the NPCs are suddenly obsessed with not only Riki but also everyone else. So it's not entirely surprising when he spots a group of them surrounding someone (whose face he has not seen yet...), but it is concerning considering their strange behavior. It doesn't seem like anything has got out of hand yet, but... It may be best to be sure, just in case.

And so he jogs on over, waving at the crowd.]

Is everything okay over there...?!

[At first, she only turns, as if afraid to hear yet another voice, not yet able to see who it is, though he does catch a bit of the attention of the surrounding NPCs. Now some seem to turn to face him instead, some seeming to crowd around her more tightly.

It's not until she realizes that the words had made sense that she answers.]

N-nothing I can't handle but they're being annoying!

[Ack. They really seem set on sticking close to whoever that is. And they seem to be staring at him like he's some enemy...

This isn't good.]

H-hey! I think you're all making her kind of uncomfortable... Could you please give her some space? [He's pretty sure his words won't help much, but it's worth a shot. Maybe.]

[Some may even be looking at him like he's something else, as Riki probably had more than his share of admirers that day.

Inside the group, Sena's trying to push her way through. For now, they seemed more willing to hurt each other more than her but she doesn't want to be there when that changes.

Further out in the crowd, there's a few advancing on him. Was he going to be yet another challenger.]

[A mix of challenging and admiring faces... ick. Neither of them are all that welcoming at all. He stands his ground though, wanting to help the other person out as he slowly approaches the crowd himself.]

E-easy now...

D-don't just stand there! [Her backing up has come to a complete stop, the crowd less thick now that they have another person to focus attentions on but the bodies are standing closer together.

Riki might find himself in a similar situation, though his crowd didn't quiet have time to grow yet. ]

[At least the girl has less people around her, but now even Riki's getting in on this. Seeing as how he had NPCs get into a huge fight next to him earlier, well... that isn't exactly favorable...! But this may be a good time for the two of them to escape.]

H-hey... Since they're all split up now, this may be our best chance of escaping!

[He glances around to find the best route to do so before shouting again.]

On the count of three, let's both run over to the left, okay? Toward that tree over there.

Who has time to wait for three?! Just run now! [She screams right as a fight does indeed break out right in front of her, almost making the participants topple over onto her. Rather or not he listens, she's trying to run, trying to push through the crowd.

It's not working too well.]

[With that fight breaking out, there really is no time to count now, is there? And so he nods.]

R-right! Run now then!

[Which he begins to do, until he realizes the struggle she's having at the moment. And so he changes his course to just run toward Sena, pushing some of the NPCs aside in an attempt to help her get through.]

[As spoiled as she is, she is also quiet prideful and doesn't want to actually call for help. She's still trying to push through, her shaking knees making it all the harder. The fight seems to have a bit of their attention, at least splitting the group up three ways.

F-finally, she sees somebody she actually knows!]

I-I'm here!

[Riki's still breaking his way through the crowd, and as soon as he spots Sena, he just suddenly... stops. And stares.

For whatever reason, as soon as he catches a glimpse of her face, he feels as though she's the only one there. Has the sky suddenly turned pink...? Why is there some weird flowery border around his line of vision? Why are there floating bubbles?!]

What... what is happening?!

[is this a shoujo anime]

[She still can't see him clearly, though she's trying.]

T-they're going crazy! Don't just stand there!

[This is... so entirely weird... Does she not see what's happening yet...?!

--Gah, this really isn't the time for that. Riki does his best to ignore it, working his way to continue shoving his way through the NPCs before finally reaching Sena. He pushes some of them aside, trying to create a path of escape for her.]

Here, go this way!

It's ab...[Sena, master of games that she is, is fully aware of what she was seeing now that he was closer. When had he gotten so cute? Was it possible for someone to be so cute that you really saw them in bishie sparkles?

Is this what people saw when they looked at her?

Now that's actually there, she's too stunned to move.]

[Why is she just standing there and staring at him... Does she see what's going on now?]

Kashiwazaki-san! Why are you just standing there...?! Do you see the stuff too now?

E-eh? When-when did you get so cute? [And now, because she loses all filters around cute things, she voices those thoughts.]

[But she at least snaps out of it when the fight causes someone to bump into her, sending her off balance.]

C-cute...? [She's the cute one... Wait, no, what is he thinking?! This is ridiculous.

He shakes the thoughts away for now, and upon seeing Sena get knocked off balance, quickly reaches out to grab her hand.]

Look out!

[As she fumbles, she sees his hand, reaching out to catch herself. Finally feeling skin against hers, she'll use it to catch her balance.] It took you long enou...Huh?

[Behind him, behind her, it looks like the groups are leaving.] What happened?

[On cue, he turns to look at the leaving NPCs, equally as baffled. They were so keen on sweeping Sena and Riki away just before, and were even fighting... Yet now they suddenly leave peacefully as if nothing even happened?]

They're just... leaving? Just like that?

Why would they do that? [Now that she's not off balance, she'll turn away from him, releasing the hand.] Why didn't they do that before it got hard?!

[Maybe her words were too soon. Almost as soon as they broke contact, the crowd stopped moving, began to turn around.] E-eh?!

I don't know, but...

[--wait.]

W-wait... Now they're suddenly coming back here?! [And fast. This isn't good...]

[She begins to back up, though the ones that had been after Riki were behind them. Between the groups, they were surrounded.]

W-why are you standing there?! We have to run!

[Crap. Not again... He looks around for an opening before taking off, being sure to look behind him and ensure that Sena was following.]

This way!

[Looking behind her, she starts to run, her pacing surprisingly fast.]

Why don't they just learn their place already?!

[Riki just keeps running, originally slowing down a bit for Sena, but... clearly that isn't necessary. He starts heading in the direction of the nearest building though.]

I don't know... It's really annoying though! What has even gotten into them?!

Even back at home, they knew better than to try anything! Where are we even going?!

If we get inside of a building, we could probably barricade the door there or in a classroom and hide for a bit until they go away.

[Assuming they give up, of course...]

[But as they run, she looks at him again...they could only mean one thing..there's no way she likes him, is there?

Caught up in looking at him, Sena trips, stumbling as she tries to catch her balance.]

[When he sees her staggering at the corner of his eye, Riki abruptly stops in his tracks to make sure she's alright. He holds out his arms to catch her in case she does fall over, all while keeping an eye on the NPCs behind them.]

Are you okay?!

[She looks down, a deep blush on her face as she, maybe too eagerly, takes his hand.]

I'm just tired of all of them idiots chasing us.

[His own face reddens a bit when she takes his hand again, but his expression soon after changes to a more curious and contemplative one as he looks out at the NPCs. They... stopped. Suddenly. Again. As if this whole situation never even happened.

...And then it clicks.]

H-hey... Kachiwazaki-san... Can we try something for a moment?

[He wanted to kiss her! How else could you explain this atmosphere?! Should she let him? He had been kind of nice and she apparently found him very attractive now...

Blushing, she nods.]

[Well that's... certainly not something that has crossed Riki's mind at all. Quite the opposite, actually, as he slowly lets go of her hand for a few moments before taking it again... letting it go... back and forth for about a minute or two as he watches the NPCs alternating movements.

Whenever their hands are united, the NPCs pay no mind to Sena and Riki. When they're not, however, they start walking on over.]

Do you see what they're doing?

[What was he doing? Was he being shy...oh.]

They're not doing anything when we're holding hands. [She looks at his, taking it again, watching as they back away.] That's weird. Why does it matter if we hold hands?

[He holds her hand, maybe a bit... tightly now, honestly. He just doesn't want them coming here and attacking again...]

I don't... know... It's really strange. But... um... M-maybe we should keep holding hands then?

[Her eyes stay on their joined hands as she nods.] It might be kind of weird but it's better than having to deal with them. [Is she still blushing? Why, yes, she is.] But how are we going to spend the whole day like this?

[The whole day.. Wow, he didn't think about it being that long. Now even his face is becoming a little flushed.]

I-I-- I'm not sure. But I'm sure we'll figure it out. It shouldn't be too hard, right...? Maybe...

It won't be easy if we have to hold hands. What happens when we have to do things the other person can't do? L-like take a bath?

[...scream. Sena, no, Riki doesn't want to think about this at all. Taking a bath with Sena... nooooo nonononononononono stop riki stop stop stop--]

...U-um...!! W-well... In that case we'd have to... not hold hands, I guess. One of us could just stand in front of the bathroom in case something happens and we need to get back together again...

[Even if she's clutching his hand, she can't look at him. Instead, her gaze seems trapped on the floor. It was safer there, but it didn't stop the red blush on her face.]

But if we do have to get back together, one of us won't have our clothes on. There's no way we can just go with a plan like that.

[sena stop nononoooooo--]

A-ahh... Y-yeah, you're... right... What would we do then?

[It's obviously his fault for making it embarrassing.]

How am I suppose to know?! It's not like this has ever happened to me before!

[She brought it up...!]

U-um... Well, we should probably figure it out, shouldn't we? I mean... On that note... using the bathroom is probably an issue too.

[Her head jerks up, her hair flying behind her.] We can't just go the whole day without that!

[In fact, now that he mentioned it...]

Bathing is one thing, but using the bathroom is entirely different... What should we do?

We'll.. we'll just have to hold hands outside the door! Just don't try anything weird or I'll never forgive you.

I wouldn't do anything weird! I promise... I'm not like that at all. As long as you're comfortable with that though, uh... that could work.

[She looks down, using her free hand to tuck her hair behind her ear.]

It's not like I have a choice. Even being with you is better than being followed by them. They're worse than the ones at home, at least they knew to listen.

Ah... I'm really sorry about that. Kachiwazaki-san. I'm sure we'll be just fine though and... hopefully it won't get too awkward, ahah.
