Haruhi

[ Haruhi's nice enough to help out anyone she sees, but only because seeing people getting swallowed up by shadows isn't a good thing. It hurts that she can't save everyone, but she's one person. She's no army, she's just Haruhi Suzumiya, ex-brigade chief and current student body president of the afterlife high school.

Which is why she'll also send out a message via text message to everyone, regardless if she knows you or not.

The text message reads the following:

Stay safe. If you can arm yourself, do it. If you can't, then find me. Reply ASAP if you wish to find me, since I'm not going to stay in one place for long.

Also: If you're planning to hide, feel free to use the student council room as a temporary headquarters, though it is not highly recommended.

If you have any questions, be quick. Time is of the essence.

And good luck.

Any shadow that shows up within Haruhi's range, however is going to be shot; the brunette's currently using a regular police handgun that she made several months ago using atomic restructuring for any shadow that isn't within her reach.

She's paying close attention to her surroundings - perhaps too close - but it's not as if she won't lend a hand for anyone who needs it. But fair warning: she'll be protecting herself over other people when it comes down to it. ]

Homura

[ Homura's been paying attention to everything that's going on, but it's not as if she cares all that much. The only thing that matters is Madoka's safety, and she's going to be the one that procures it, not matter what. She's keeping tabs on Madoka by using her minions to off several of the shadows before some of them get sucked in themselves.

It's okay; it's not as if they're human to begin with, after all. Even though they're a part of Homura, they're just a portion of her essence, so it's not that huge of a problem.

She'll even chase them all the way upstairs to what seems to be a dead-end before jumping off the roof, black wings appearing on her back as she transforms into her magical girl state, taking out several guns from her shield as she shoots several of the shadows down to the ground; she won't allow them to touch her or the one she cares the most.

Basically, Homura will be running around and offing any shadow that comes her way - and possibly anybody else who dares stand in her way. She's not only using guns, but also her magical purple bow and arrow.

Of course, she doesn't have to care about wasting magic; she's no longer a magical girl after all.. ]

Himeko

[ Admist all the chaos, there's one Himeko Inaba who seems to be hanging out with several of the other NPCs with a happy look in her eyes, laughing while eating with others during lunch, and that is quite a weird sight. When shadows do show up, there is a sign of shock in her eyes, but it's nothing compared to what fear feels like to her.

Basically, she's happy now.

There's no need for her to fear anything anymore most of the time, especially since the shadows are now ignoring her. She can be found still attending classes like nobody else and acting quite... demure.

It's kind of creepy, honestly. Though if she does see someone she knows, she might as well chat them up! She can be helpful, after all! ]

[ Of course they're not going through the emergency exit; staying inside the school was easier than going outside. Even though there would be more space to dodge out there, more shadows could show up more often than not. ]

Let's keep going.

R-Right. [ The whole time, he's looking behind them, trying to ensure that nothing sneaks up on them. He keeps hoping that his phone would vibrate in his pocket, even if the battery is getting low. Come on... come on... he keeps thinking. How the hell did Deus get this stupid thing to work? He honestly never thought he'd miss Murumuru, but right now he'd kill to be able to ask her a few questions. And actually get a straight answer, of course. ]

Don't worry. The shadows usually don't do anything surprising. It's only bad if they surround us.

I, um... try not to fight them too much. [ A beat. ] Where are we going, anyway? Where are the others?

I only shoot the ones that are in my way. I don't have enough confidence to think that I won't get NPC'd again if I mess up. So I'm trying hard not to.

There's nothing behind us. [ He's still remaining vigilant. They could show up at any second, and he wasn't going to let anything bad happen to Haruhi again. ] I-I wish Yuno was here.

[ She's taken down worse than this. ]

Don't worry, I have a sixth sense for the shadows now.

[ Not really, but she knows well enough how the shadows work generally to predict their actions. And to be able to avoid them effectively. ]

[ Yukiteru didn't say anything to that. He kept looking behind them, the same thoughts running through his mind. "Come on... come on... work, damnit!" It was times like this that he was painfully reminded of just how dependent he had become on his Diary, and on Yuno. But at least Haruhi clearly knew what she was doing. That was very refreshing, and reassuring. ]

[ Eyes glance over slightly as she pays close attention to her surroundings. She's the type of person who's careful when it comes down to it. They're almost at the cafeteria at least, so they're be fine once they get there.

Probably... ]

Okay! I think we should be safe soon... for the time being.

T-The cafeteria?

[ Not the place he would have picked, but it could work. Maybe they've already got a perimeter set up. He'd have preferred an area with a choke point that they could line with traps, but maybe they have their own ideas. ]

Okay... okay. I trust you, Haruhi.

Don't you know the saying that if you want to hide a leaf, you hide it in the forest?

Y-Yeah, but.

[ It's a good point, one he didn't consider. Mostly because, when he was in this kind of situation before, he and Yuno stuck out like a sore thumb. ]

Okay... okay. I'll follow you.

Don't worry. If the NPCs start turning into shadows, we'll move immediately. I'm just hungry.

[ :T ]

... That's why we're going there?

[ Wow, he almost believed all that 'hide a leaf in a forest' stuff. Well, whatever. He said he was going to follow her, and he's not about to go back on it. ]

They'd better be serving steak, for all of this.

Only half the reason we're going there. You can't fight an army with an empty stomach, after all! I'll just get something that I can eat on the go, anyway and sit with some NPCs to hide temporarily.

Well... okay. I haven't really had much of an appetite since this all started, but I guess I should try to eat...

Eating is essential! Even if we're dead, it doesn't mean we aren't supposed to eat. We'd get ourselves offed first before the shadows can get to us!

It's kind of hard for me to eat when I'm this nervous. But, I'll try... umm... what are they serving today, anyway?

Well, the special is Blooming Onion, but other than that, they always serve pretty much the same thing as always.

I'm not sure I have the stomach for a Blooming Onion right now, but I guess I'll try..

I've never had one either, but the food here is decent most of the time.
