[After twister at that sleepover things had happened and feelings had been exchanged. Jean had wanted to sort them out sooner but…

Where they really dating? It felt so strange to say he was dating his best friend, they had been best friend for over three years now.. These feelings didn’t just occur either, they had been festering for quite some time now… How could.. they not? Marco was his closest, most supportive person Jean could ever ask for, they both wanted the same things (or mostly the same things,) they would have a future together whether romantic or not—it would be a bond that would last forever.. In a world where no one’s guarantied anything it felt soothing. Nothing was unbearable as long as they were both alive, right? Guess they weren’t really alive anymore..

A sigh, he'd been waiting a whole hour early at the bench on the bridge above the stream where they were supposed to meet for their date. Traditional, that’s how Jean liked it…
He needed time alone with Marco.]

H-hey.. [Giving his new ’boyfriend’ (wow, is this really real?) a soft smile. This isn’t anything new, Marco and Jean always do things together so why does it feel so different?]

[He knew Marco was going to laugh.. at least it wasn't that mocking. Whatever 'shame' Jean could have felt over his honesty was silenced by the others lips, heart skipping a beat, still unable to keep the idea that this was Marco out of his mind.. Jean didn't want it to ever stop, something in him just questioned if he should let this happen sooner. For he hadn't lied and each time they'd kiss it bought this sense of warmth, like they were home but everything was going to be fine... like no one had died...

Well, you know I've always admired your honesty, Jean. I've gotta say, the way you always stick to your beliefs is really admirable. Even when you know some would consider them cowardly or wrong, you stand by it. Plus, I know deep down, you still believe in what's good, no matter what.

That's what makes you so amazing, Jean. Even when you try to pretend you're tough or cool, inside you're just the same as everyone else. But you know that. You're weak and scared but you keep trying anyway. It's so amazing I just couldn't help falling for you.

M-Marco.. [The way you worded that Jean could easily feel embarrassed but- 'I just couldn't help falling for you.'] You really like me, huh..? You sure you want it to be me?

[You're right, deep down.. Jean knows he's not something 100% special, it's what makes him so worried, Marco..] You know, I only fall for perfect people.. I guess that's my problem, huh? [Giving a weak smile, take some flirting.]

Of course, Jean! I'm really glad... that we have this opportunity, without having to worry about risking our lives all the time. Even if it's our second chance.

[ Of course, the 'perfect' comment makes Marco chuckle in embarrassment. ] Are you saying I'm perfect, Jean? Don't be silly...

Yeah, I am. Take the compliment, you ass, you sayin' I can't think you're perfect? [Using up some of his courage to pull Marco into a kiss, hand over the back of his neck keeping their kiss steady. When Jean pulls off Marco's lips he stays close..Emotional, he's not sure he's ready for something this committed with someone so close and yet--] Because.. I do.

Even with your flaws, or what few things you say that embarrassing the living hell out of me..

O-oh. [ Marco blushes, falling into the kiss easily as Jean pulls him in. He likes staying this close, loves the thought of having this with Jean. It really is perfect. ]

[ Saying embarrassing things like that and meaning every word. Jean really is the best, as far as Marco's concerned. ]

W-well I don't think I could just... come up with a date or anything. And I think you're very handsome. And cute.

[A grumbling, muttering something along the lines of 'I'm not cute'] I-I, well, I'm asking because-

[You know all those times Mikasa wouldn't give him the time of day or not laugh at his joke, or generally make him feel stupid and worthless with her reaction but you'd be right there Marco. Patting his back and giving him confidence to keep trying, never give up, make all those fake laughs at his bad jokes, or help him think of new ideas to stir up conversations with her, all that bullshit..

-At least someone thought he was smart, cool and funny. Why wouldn't you want someone that makes you feel so important in your life?] I long time.. I guess.. it's hard to come to terms with it. You're just as much my best friend as w-what we are now, you know?

I don't think dating has to change anything between us, Jean. I-I wouldn't want it to.

[ Though it's just like Jean to worry about big stuff like this as soon as they're starting. He always has the bigger picture in mind, and trips on the details the whole way there. ]

I trust you more than anyone else in the world. I'd never give that up. I respect you and I think you're really great and... m-maybe we shouldn't think too hard about this. That always was one of your weaknesses, Jean. It's cute how you have such trouble being happy.

[BLUSHES-- S-shut up, Marco! Don't be so.. cute..] I-I'm just worried, alright? [He wants to kiss him...] What if I did something or said something- [He really wants to kiss him...] that you weren't okay with? [He just!! Really!! wants to..!]

H-How can I not worry about it? Your- [Jean's not even sure how to express himself right now. So many conflicting new, strange, feelings boiling inside him. Is he being too sappy? To ignorant? Is there not enough feeling in his words, is he even understable?]

[ Marco leans in, laying his head on Jean's shoulder. Gosh, Jean. Don't freak out or anything, the more you do that, the cuter you look. ]

If we disagree, we'll talk about it. If something makes you worried or nervous or upset, you can talk to me about it. I'll always be here for you.

[Can't.. hold it in.. any longer.. Marco just-- stop!! Cheeks felt numb (surely red as all hell) as he pulled Marco into a rough kiss, hand holding the other still nestled in the short hair on the back of Marco's neck.. Jean doesn't really know what he's doing s-so..

It's embarrassing to admit that..

-but Jean does however know he wants to kiss Marco.. He wants this kind of relationship with the boy.. His heart wouldn't ache so badly when they kissed if he didn't, palms so sweaty as skin tingled all over. Both of them with rough, cracked, lips form a previous life of whipping through the air constantly but the texture wasn't an issue.. nothing was an issue, at least for Jean.]

[ It's messy and inexperienced but Marco kisses back the moment he recovers from his surprise. There's no one else he'd rather kiss, no one else he'd rather spend the rest of his days with, not really. They were best friends and they could be even more... Gosh, he's getting kind of emotional. ]

[Yeah, all these feelings are just really kinda new... Not all of them, but most.] Yeah.. m-me too. [He's just so flattered and frustrated with just how emotional he feels.

[ Marco smiles, adjusting himself so he can cradle Jean's neck. Marco is a little taller, after all. He leans in, pressing his lips squarely on Jean's own. ]

You don't have to ask, silly.

[That wasn't as deep as Jean had been hoping.. maybe it was best to leave things as they were for right now, despite his boyish crave for Marco in different ways.]

You got permission to do that anytime you like, you know. ['So use it,' for once holding that last bit back, seemed a tad bit mood breaking.

This place was so calm.. the lake in front of them roaring to no extent as it glimmered with context of the sun. Jean and Marco under the bridge however, in the shade. The cold breeze sweeping past wasn't a bother at all against Jean's flushed skin..] When you got here, you said you knew you were dead..

[Jean.. had been in denial over his own, perhaps he still was.]

I'll make sure to make the best of it, then.

[ Marco's not that oblivious. He keeps a hand on the back of Jean's neck, stroking up to short hair there. ]

That's right. [ His held loosens, his gaze shifting down. ] Do you... really want to know about that, now?

[Now you have him all conflicted with that tone of voice.. ah! Deep blush over his cheeks, Jean would opt out of being serious for any chance to lose this curse of romantic ignorance.

Quivering at Marco's touch.] W-whatever you want, you don't have to tell me...

[bodt]

It's kinda depressing... I'd rather not think about it when I'm still so happy about this.

[ Marco tightens his hand again, massaging the back of Jean's neck. Does that feel good? He hopes so. Marco leans in close, getting a good look at that adorable blush on Jean's face. ]

I can tell you later. Or another day. We'll have lots of time.

Y-yeah.. tomorrow or whatever..

[Is that a joke? Of course it feels good, don't just glare at him like that! Marco!! Eyes ripping from where they had adverted to the lake going back to great Marco's. J-Just do it already, you ass!]

[ Marco smiles, closing the distance between them to kiss Jean's lips, all the way to the edge of his jaw. ]

You're so cute, Jean.

[His own hand joins all this face touching by cupping Marco's cheek, blush undying.] D-don't.. call me cute, it's embarrassing. [Doing some of his own kissing.

Taking that step that he'd been fearing.. is it a licking sort of thing? Whatever the actions Jean was running his tongue over the other's lips in hopes nothing would be awkward..]

But it's true.

[ Marco thinks everything you do is adorable, Jean. You're gonna have to deal with that because Marco parts his lips, giving Jean room to... well, if he wants... it's not like Marco has much experience in this particular department. He's a bit more of a natural though, he slides hand down the neck of Jean's shirt, just to feel more of his skin. ]

[Y-yeah... Jean's just going to ah- give it his best old college try, it's not like all those boys didn't have an idea of what to do..-and with Marco's parted lips it gives Jean an open opportunity, taking it.

The hand over his skin causes him to quiver slightly. Finally sharing a deep kiss with a person he's only thought about doing so with for a good (at least) two years..]
