So! After loads of planning (and hopefully practicing between both teams), it's finally time for the big baseball game! Although there have been a few sports competitions like this in the afterlife already, Riki wanted to have one solely between all the dead kids sometime before the break would end. And today is now that day...! The teams have been officially distributed as:

Haruhi's Team:
Haruhi Suzumiya
Leon Kuwata
Celica A. Mercury
Kotarou Tennouji
Bertholdt

(Mana and Bertholdt had been added to the opposite teams originally, but Riki's a butt so he decided to swap them so that both teams would have an equal number of girls. Also! If anyone else had been unofficially signed up (meaning you threaded your character joining in ICly but never responded to the OOC sign-up post), just let me know and I'll add you.)

Anyway! Before the game, there will be some time for everyone to have some last-minute batting or catching practice. Whatever suits your fancy. Or talking to the crowd that has come to watch. There's also plenty of food and drinks (all of which are healthy choices, though -- like water, orange juice, fruits, and the like) for people to have! The real treats won't come until after the game. Because guess what Riki managed to get?! A giant cake! Yum. It has a baseball field on it and everything!

As for the game itself, there will be nine innings. Points will be distributed like this:

Sena's Team: 0, 2, 3, 0, 1, 2, 0, 4, 2 (14)
Haruhi's Team: 1, 4, 0, 0, 2, 1, 3, 2, 2 (15) <-- Winner!

Also, during the game, some NPCs (the 5% of them that are actually, you know, around...) may make there way on over to the bleachers to see what's going on. One or two of them will be doing the same nonsense that they have been for the past few days, saying weird and irrelevant things like, "Did you floss your toes today?" or getting stuck on and repeating phrases such as, "I love soccer game-game-game-games..." The others are fine, but yeah. The glitched ones will only stick around briefly before just randomly leaving, saying they have basket weaving to tend to or something.

So! Now that that's all settled... Let the game begin!

[ Haruhi, being the team captain has plans for her team before the game. Translation: Team Haruhi meeting! She'll be giving everyone their uniforms and announcing how they'll be choosing their batting and defense positions...

By lottery! With the exception that Haruhi's the first batter and the pitcher. Y E P. ]

[Bertholdt's holding his uniform and looking sullen.]

This... isn't, uh... big enough.

Try the double extra large, then.

[ She'll toss it over. Thankfully she came prepared, okay?! ]

[He pulls the jacket on over his shirt. It's still... a little short on him in the arms, but it'll have to do.]

I guess this is good enough...

As long as you can use the bat to hit the ball, it really doesn't matter! Maybe I should take your measurements later, though.

[toobig]

It's... just my arms are too long, that's all.

[But he'll do his best! He's learned the rules at the various practices that are assumed to have gone on.]

I can play...

[He was reluctant to play. While he felt his abnormal powers were gone, he didn't wanna take the chance that they may feel the need to kick in during physical activities or something. It was this side of him that has its opposite, as he's sort of...exciting to partake in something as a normal guy. It's something he's wanted to do for a while now, with nothing to do with the supernatural. Just a highschooler with a game to play.

However, his decline to join the game didn't reach the exotic woman. He never wanted to join at all, but the girl known as their leader didn't leave him many options. Kotarou caught his uniform with a deep sigh.]

... [Looking at his other "teammates," she seemed to have picked a...large variety of people. Kotarou slips his uniform on, and overhears Haruhi announcing the positions. He was zipping it up when he speaks up.]

Lottery...?

[extraordinarily]

That's right.

[ Haruhi nods, placing her hands on her hips as she takes out the sheets of paper with the Amidakuji, along with a pen. ]

Just put your name over two of the lines - one for batting position and another for defense position - and follow it down to find out what you'll get. Of course, I'm the pitcher and the first batter~

[conversationalist]

[He figured the ego is huge on this one. Not that he's complaining, he's merely hoping he's at least last on one of them. Excited as it may, it's been too long since he's attended anything physical, it's nearly nerve-wracking. Hopefully nothing too stupid comes up...]

You're the leader after all. [He humors. Kotarou grabs the pen.]

...Hmm. [He doesn't wanna put much thought into this.]

Gimme your hand for a second.

[ Hey, her ego is backed up with actual ability, so don't complain! Haruhi will hug her shoulders first, taking a step back as she speaks up, her voice slightly confused and disgusted. ]

Tell me why and maybe I will.

Don't back up like that! You'll make it seem like I'm asking for something weird!

[Isn't he?!]

Just let me see. It won't hurt.

And how do I know you're not?!

[ She'll frown and pout before showing him her palm. It's nothing special, just an ordinary female hand. Unless you count the fact that Haruhi has pseudo-goddess like powers. Though her hand is totally and completely fine. ]

[conversationalist]

[Carelessly, Kotarou takes her hand and writes something on the palm of her hand.]

There.

[Ten-nou-ji (天王寺) would be found written on the top of her skin.]

[ How did he get dragged into this. Right. Haruhi. The most frightening girl in this place. But even so.. there's no way he can actually wear this, just looking at that uniform makes him want to cry!! ]

Oi, Suzumiya, I can play much better in my usual clothes! [ He's got to at least try to protest.. ]

... What, are they lucky or something? Clothes are just clothes.

[tsunball]

Of course they aren't lucky or whatever, it's just.. those things are ugly as shit! And I bet they smell bad too! [ And the last thing Leon wants is to have to look ugly out there.. or look non-punk-rock in general, really. ]

So you're saying you're insulting me the one who made and washed them?

[tsunball]

This one is tough. Getting in trouble with psycho Haruhi vs looking uncool. Which one is worse.. ]

I.. I'm just saying they can't live up to my own clothes!

Okay, fine. Do what you want.

[ He actually pulls back his elbow to make a ka-ching kind of motion with his arm as he grins to himself. ] Yes! [ He's a total dork, okay. ]

[ Mana has never actually seen a real baseball match. She got a little last minute training since she was asked to join, but she didn't get much better. Still, she's super exciter about this, and is bouncing up and down with much energy and excitement where she sits on a bench by the field. ]

[ Aaaand here's Yukki. He ordered two hotdogs, and one large soda with two straws. He told a certain pink-haired girl he'd be here today, and that he wanted to make this into a date of sorts. Because why not? Yuno herself was more into track and swimming (and Yukki was a terrible athlete in general, unless you count darts), but he did enjoy watching sports. Besides, after that dance... he wanted to do something special while they wait for the big day to come. ]

Hey Yuno. I, um... I didn't know if you wanted ketchup or mustard or anything, so I just brought the condiments with me.

[ He sits down next to her. Hopefully nobody bothers them. In other words, please bother them. ]
