SUMMARY: The Programmer and Fantoche have increased the number of shadows in order to pursue the NPC, Ai, who has been trying to hide but cannot continue to stand by and do nothing. Meanwhile, many of the afterlife's residents have been turned into NPCs.. is there a way to reason with them or get their memories back? There are 3 parts to this log!

MARCH 22: SHADOWS
Shadows are difficult to deal with, and you've just been surrounded. It seems like the number of shadows have raised up well beyond half of the NPC population. Team up, fight off the shadows, try to follow them to find the NPC first! Ai will be around throughout this log and will reveal her Guard Skill abilities in a comment here. Feel free to attempt to apprehend her.

MARCH 23: THE NORM
A few people have been turned into NPCs. The shadows seem not to bother them-- the shadows ignore them and those turned into NPCs don't even seem to see the shadows. They can see you, even if they can't remember. Try to talk some sense into them or take whatever measures you think are necessary? Try to keep them company or say goodbye because if Ai isn't turned in, there's no known way to turn them back?

MARCH 24: CAPTURED AI
Ai's identity has been revealed since the 22nd, but she's been avoiding capture up until now. Come up with a plan, decide what to do. It might be a good idea to have a meeting and talk to her. She's surprisingly cooperative. The OOC poll revealed that Ai will be kept away from Fantoche and the Programmer, so if any characters have the intent to do otherwise they will not be able to be the ones to find her. Of those who comment, on the 24th the mods will RNG one character to have successfully captured Ai and she will reply to that thread. Other characters or teams may jump in based on what you as the players have decided to do.

[ Focused as she is, Mami doesn't really notice anyone approaching her. She's been firing, and reloading, and firing again, trying to get a hang of the rifle, taking out Shadows from a distance. When she hears Sayaka's voice she turns her head quickly, taking in a breath, as if she were a little startled. ]

Miki-san! I'm glad you're alright.

[ Mami pulls her gun back in off the railing she was shooting from, trying to hide her presence from the Shadows for now. ]

Where have you been?

[That explains why Mami hadn't gotten back to Sayaka's message at least... She had been too busy being a sniper.]

[She walks over, pulling her sword with her.]

I was coming to come find you, Miki-san. But I wanted to find a weapon first. You're not hurt are you?

[ Mami isn't sure what to expect with these Shadows, but she expects the worst. ]

We should find Ma...Kaname-san, and Sakura-san, and find a place to hole up together. We don't have to fight these things, we just have to protect ourselves.

[ Yes, Mami is scared to fight. She already feels her hands shaking, trying to hide them from Sayaka. ]

[Even if she had been hurt, it'd be healed by now.]

I found Sakura. [Her tone is flat. She tried to get along with Kyouko, she did, but the girl was grating. And Sayaka had been the one who sent this girl here.] Got her a weapon and then we split up.

[She pauses.] I don't know if staying in one place will work, Mami-san.

[ Even if she got hurt, even if she healed already Mami would be so very worried. ]

You did? [ There's a noticeable excitement in her voice, hearing that Sayaka had found Kyouko. Mami doesn't mean to show favorites, and in the end, she doesn't even think she is doing that at all, but she can't help but be worried about the other girl too. ]

I guess I'm not surprised she wouldn't want to work with someone else..

We don't have to fight, Miki-san. We should just make sure we'll all safe instead.

Though... after finding out what happened, I don't think I find the shadows that scary.

[ Kyouko is a difficult girl, but at the same time, Mami is hurt that Sayaka and Kyouko can't get along. She had to expect it but..she had hoped the new setting, the new situation, would make it easier for them. Apparently not. ]

Miki-san...I... [ Mami watches the other girl's back, worried that she can't actually reach her with her words. She doesn't want to fight, she doesn't want to see the others fight. Not after everything that happened.. ]

[Sayaka tried to open up to Kyouko, she did, but it wasn't like talking to Madoka or even Mami. She regretted it almost as soon as she had done it. She looks back over her shoulder at Mami.]

I'll make sure nothing comes up the stairs, okay?

[ Mami can understand that it's not easy to become friends with Kyouko. Or at least, it's hard to STAY friends with her. Mami still misses the relationship they had, before things had gone sour between them. ]

I don't want to see you get hurt. I'm..scared... [ Even if she knows she can't actually die again or anything, Mami is nearly paralyzed when it comes to worry about other people now. ]

If I don't watch the stairs then both of us could get attacked by those things.

[She doesn't really want to say these things but someone has to. She lowers her head.] ...you've already escaped being a witch, Mami-san. These things aren't as half as scary as that fate.

[ Maim just reaches out a little, despite Sayaka being all the way across the room from her. She can't reach her, in more ways than one. Even though Sayaka is back in her life, she still doesn't feel like their relationship is anything like it was before, there's still so much keeping them apart. ]

I guess you're right... [ Even as much sense that makes, it doesn't make her feel much better at all. Mami can't lose anyone again, she doesn't know if she could take it. ]
