WHO: Accelerator, Hinata and Kohaku
WHAT: It's time to finally test out a way to 'save' Kohaku from being an NPC.
WHEN: Sometime this week, April 13th or later.
WHERE: House A
WARNINGS: There will be swearing and violence.

[In the room he had claimed for himself, Accelerator uses his phone for one last playback of the audio post Kohaku had inadvertently made two months earlier. The words that Kohaku had used, the screams and yells of the NPCs, what sounded like a guy in his late teens reaching his breaking point and cracking... Accelerator's brow twitches as the recording reaches its end. He doesn't know much about Kohaku, doesn't care to know much about Kohaku, doesn't care to know much about anyone—and yet listening to something so achingly familiar leaves him with a tightness that leaves raw, uncomfortable scrapes all inside him. Ha. He closes his eyes, shuts off the phone and puts it in his pocket. He draws a slow intake of breath before allowing his eyes to flutter open once more in his trademark hardened stare.

He leaves his room and starts looking around for Hinata. Hinata has to be somewhere.]

Oi, Free Time! Where are you, dumbass?

[No, Hinata is not also NPCed. Accelerator is in search of him for a different reason.]

[ Around dinner time, there's a small girl who wakes up in the forest. Completely lost, completely scared, and not completely remembering what happened at all to have her end up here. She wants her brother, her rabbit, her dad, her mom..

Right now she's just standing around in the same spot, clutching the front of her uniform's skirt with both of her hands. You're supposed to stay in one spot if you're lost right..?? ]

WHERE: Anywhere and everywhere in this afterlife
WARNINGS: Potential violence, loss of sense of self, fighting, cussing. If you have anything else let a mod know to add it!
SUMMARY: The Programmer and Fantoche have increased the number of shadows in order to pursue the NPC, Ai, who has been trying to hide but cannot continue to stand by and do nothing. Meanwhile, many of the afterlife's residents have been turned into NPCs.. is there a way to reason with them or get their memories back? There are 3 parts to this log!

MARCH 22: SHADOWS
Shadows are difficult to deal with, and you've just been surrounded. It seems like the number of shadows have raised up well beyond half of the NPC population. Team up, fight off the shadows, try to follow them to find the NPC first! Ai will be around throughout this log and will reveal her Guard Skill abilities in a comment here. Feel free to attempt to apprehend her.

MARCH 23: THE NORM
A few people have been turned into NPCs. The shadows seem not to bother them-- the shadows ignore them and those turned into NPCs don't even seem to see the shadows. They can see you, even if they can't remember. Try to talk some sense into them or take whatever measures you think are necessary? Try to keep them company or say goodbye because if Ai isn't turned in, there's no known way to turn them back?

MARCH 24: CAPTURED AI
Ai's identity has been revealed since the 22nd, but she's been avoiding capture up until now. Come up with a plan, decide what to do. It might be a good idea to have a meeting and talk to her. She's surprisingly cooperative. The OOC poll revealed that Ai will be kept away from Fantoche and the Programmer, so if any characters have the intent to do otherwise they will not be able to be the ones to find her. Of those who comment, on the 24th the mods will RNG one character to have successfully captured Ai and she will reply to that thread. Other characters or teams may jump in based on what you as the players have decided to do.

5th: Kendo club is getting itself back into action by holding some practice after school! There will be one on one practice matches so get ready to pair up and whack each other with bamboo sticks. And today even non members are allowed to join in on beating each other up in case anyone's actually interested in joining. Don't get too many blisters now.

6th: Since the weather has been so nice lately, gym class is going to be outside today, and guess what you’re doing? High jumps! Gotta start preparing you for that physical exam that’s in the future. So maybe you’re about to go or you’re waiting in line and watching your classmates but once it’s your turn, just spread your arms and legs like the butterfly you are and soar of the bar. Fosbury flops and fish flops are totally acceptable maneuvers too.

7th: Ah yes, the season of love has made it's way to the afterlife once again and the NPCs are abuzz with excitement for it. So excited in fact that the choir has put together a little something to help spread said love. A song gram sign up! Is the love of your life here ~~unlike the Programmers~~ ? Well now's your chance to serenade them. Throughout they day they'll be advertising it but catch them in front of the music room and you can sign up to have a certain someone get a song sung to them in front of their class.

8th: Remember that little instrument you used to play when you were little? You know that plastic thing that looks like a small clarinet? Yeah, that, the recorder. Well, turns out that today there’s a test on playing it in music class. Let’s hope you've been practicing playing it in class and in your dorm room because you have to play it in front of the whole class. ~~toot toot bitch~~

9th: Congratulations to all successful egg-parents!! It looks like you weren't some of the unfortunate few who killed your poor baby eggs and for that, it's time to be rewarded. On the 24th, all those who passed the egg child assignment were given a golden meal ticket to take to the restaurant in town tonight to receive a 4-course meal (appetizer, salad, entree and dessert). So enjoy! You deserved it.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Because of a new and certain anti-virus program installed into the system, there have been no glitches so, like the past while, this week will seem abnormally normal. Even the weather itself has been oddly normal and warm as well, especially for a cold month like February.

1st: HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!! Looks like most of you all have made it yet another year here in the afterlife. Like staying dead do you? Well, it is pretty nice here when the programmer isn’t trying to turn you into a NPC huh? But none of that weird and dangerous stuff today! No, today there’s fireworks abound to celebrate the start of a new year!! Bright and colorful explosions covering the entire sky and they’ll even be handing out sparklers.

And also in front of the main school building there will be a booth with a NPC dressed as a miko and there you can get your fortune! Draw a stick with a number and the NPC will hand you a slip of paper that matches that number and that’s your fortune! There’s good, bad, moderate good, eh who knows what you get. Let’s hope it’s better than what you had when you were alive am I right.

2nd: Everyone’s parents are still pretty terrible about coming to visit their kids at school, so as per usual, there are no cars in the parking lot. But hey! There is something much larger there. What is it? It’s a truck and it’s full of new clothes. Anyone who goes up to see will be greeted by a NPC and he will tell everyone that they’re allowed to take one outfit from the truck (meaning; one shirt, one pair of pants/skirt, socks, shoes, and one piece of accessory). Try to take any more than that and the clothes will suddenly be ripped out of your hands and fly back and stick to the truck because the tags on them are magnetized to it. So don’t be trying to be sneaky and sneak off with more than you’re supposed to!

3rd: We all wish we could hibernate like bears in the winter, especially when we wake up in the morning and just want to keep sleeping under our nice warm covers. But hibernating and sleeping in the middle of the day when you’re out and about? Ehhh maybe less preferable. Walking around the campus, getting something to eat in town or the cafeteria? Suddenly you’re overwhelmed with a feeling of drowsiness. And who knows, it might just be strong enough to make you fall asleep right in the middle of what you’re doing, maybe you’ll even fall asleep standing up! Turns out Riki Naoe’s narcolepsy was contagious.

4th: It’s always distressing how hard floor can always get so cold during the winter time, isn’t it? Wake up and put your feet on the ground only to be greeted by an icy feeling BRRR. Well today the hallway floors are even extra icy today, literally. Step outside and you’ll go slipping and sliding and possibly even falling on your ass on a layer of ice if you’re not too careful.

5th: Hot food is always the best in winter, it’s a given fact! Some nice warm soup or some hot cocoa to warm you right up in the midst of the bitter weather. Today though you might find that that food is a little too hot, in fact it’s not just hot, it’s SPICY. Like someone put a wad of wasabi in it spicy. And it’s not just soup, it’s all of the food in the cafeteria! Chocolates, sandwiches, soups, pastas, everything! Better hope you find enough water to help that poor throat of yours.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: As for the fortunes given out on the first, players will be allowed to make up their characters own fortunes. It can be anything you want! If you want an example of a fortune to help get an idea here's one: "Moderate Luck. You need to focus on your studies this year. This year will be a good year for finding a boyfriend." Concerning the clothes that will arrive in the truck on the 2nd, none of the clothes on board will be clothes that your character had in their past life. They will all be new clothes. So please keep that in mind if you have them go through the truck to pick out an outfit!!

There is also snow on the ground with some slight flurries throughout the days and school is currently out until the 13th so kick back and enjoy no homework!! Also, a new NPC will be introduced here on this interaction log and she will be tagging around to characters who post on the log! So look forward to her and we hope you like her.

SUMMARY: After Yuri gets sick of not talking to Hinata after a mishap with mistletoe, she tells him to come help her try to make some traditional new years dishes for an SSS New Years party... which will end up not happening after they both realize that they're not to be allowed in the kitchens unsupervised ever again.

WHO: All Secret Santa participants! And anyone else who wants to stop by
WHAT: Gift-giving and general Christmas festivities hurrah
WHEN: Evening of the 24th
WHERE: Boys' dorm lobby
WARNINGS: excessive holiday cheer
SUMMARY: The lobby of the boys' dorms has been decorated top-to-bottom with holiday decorations! Lights, a tree, you name it. Though at the beginning of the night, the tree actually has no ornaments! But there's a box full of them sitting beside it for any and all characters to help decorate it. Likewise, there's a growing pile of gift boxes beneath the tree with everyone's Secret Santa gifts. For any characters who did not participate in the event but do want to join in on the festivities, they may do so! And if they have any gifts, those may go under the tree along with everyone else's.

There's also a long table nearby with loads of various foods, ranging from cookies to cakes or even sandwiches and soups. Hot chocolate too, of course! Besides the usual couches and chairs in the lobby, there really aren't any additional chairs. But the floor is clean. Sitting on the floor isn't a big deal, you know...!

For reference, the Secret Santa list is here and there is a thread below for stating what gifts characters got one another. Feel free to join in with non-Secret Santa participants, but be sure to note in your comment that the gift is not of that variety. It is up to characters as to whether or not they want to reveal themselves as people's gift givers. If a character has decided not to give their assigned person a gift, make sure to either PM me at

It was Halloween, otherwise known as Hallow's Eve. And the stage was set for an amazing party, otherwise known as the extravaganza of the year. Haruhi had it all planned out: there were booths decorated in orange and black, balloons that looked like pumpkins, ghosts, and witches, games and prizes galore, live music, and so much more.

Sure, people may have 'died', but you know what they say: the show must go on! And go on, it shall. In front of the doors to the auditorium is an orange carpet and a rope blocking the entrance.

So, come on, relax, and have some fun!

23rd: Ah yes, October, the fall season, the month for pumpkins to finally have their time in the spotlight. So grab your carving knives and get ready to dig your hands into goop because today in art class it’s time to carve some pumpkins! Make a cool design, or a scary face! How fanceh can you get.

24th: Everyone’s got a skeleton in their closet, right? Well if you don’t you certainly do now. In your dorm room and open up your closet to change clothes? Maybe on clean up duty after classes end and open up the cleaning equipment closet? SURPRISE!! There’s a skeleton standing up right just waiting for you. Careful though, it might end up falling on you when you open the door. It’s okay, they’re not real. ~~Or are they the skeletons of some NPCs mwuahahaha~~

25th: Today in the parking lot that’s usually completely empty (parents are pretty bad at coming to visit their kids huh), there is just one car sitting in the middle of the lot. It’s a simple tan sudan, nothing special. What’s it doing there? Who knows. Investigate and you’ll find out that it’s completely locked and trying to smash the windows will only result in the object bouncing off of the glass. Inside though? Nothing. Wonder who’s it is? Well there's blood splatter on the car tire, hmmm...

26th: It’s gotten a little chilly, but hey, maybe the cool crisp air is nice enough to go for a walk down by the stream on a pretty fall day. But when you get down there you’ll see—a boat! And not just any boat its… a pumpkin boat! Really, it’s a large hallowed out pumpkin made into a boat. Do you dare test it out on the waters? Let’s hope Monster Stream isn’t hungry for pumpkin today.

27th: Halloween is on its way and so is a Halloween party and a special little event!! To get you ready, the afterlife has made the convenient store in town into a costume shop! Better hurry and get the sexiest or scariest outfit. Want a new maid outfit ~~Riki~~, or maybe a vampire or witch? It’s all there waiting for you so pick your poison.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: The Halloween event will begin on the 25th and go throughout the next week! Characters are free to discover bodies laid out in random areas about the school or town and they can also discover murder scenes (a room with blood, a weapon, the works). An OOC post will be made later tonight with further and more detailed descriptions of the event. Have fun!

WHO: SSS Members, Anyone else who shows up too.
WHAT: SSS Meeting
WHERE: Guild, toward the entrance.
WHEN: After Otonashi's post.
WARNINGS: Violence, language possibly?
SUMMARY: Yuri directing SSS members to guard entrances, open discussion about ideas.

[ Yuri stands on top of what looks like it was some kind of abandoned, red pseudo-tank that never got running in front of a crowd of people. She'd called the meeting earlier with a brief text, hoping that everyone would show up despite the panic and confusion. Once there was a sizable crowd, she started speaking. ]

LISTEN UP! [ Once the murmurs quieted down (with her throwing something at whoever didn't after five seconds), she began to speak clearly and calmly. ]

Otonashi already brought it up, but we need to come up with a plan to get out of here. Until then I'm assigning SSS members to guard the entrances. Here are the assignments. You'll switch off shifts and you can do whatever you want while you're off, but there are 3 possible entrances to this area besides the one everyone entered through.

[ The next part, Yuri is still speaking, but.. I totally arranged it so it'd be easier to read. ]

Gym Entrance Tunnel: I have no doubt that this entrance has already attracted the most attention. Even though it's got the traps guarding it, chances are that it's going to get flooded and some of the shadows will get though. We'll need guards at this entrance at all times.

Stream Tunnel: This is the fishing area. If you go under water, there's a passage out to another tunnel that'll lead toward the center of the school at the bottom of the cliffs. SSS members who were there the first time we had to storm Guild remember this. There aren't booby traps, but that's why I didn't want everyone entering through here. Less guard means we need less attention drawn to it.

Forest Tunnel: There's an entrance out in the forest that's little known to most of you with an old workroom. There are a lot of levels to get down here to Guild and you'd have to know which one to take since it just keeps going down further and further. It takes more than a 9 hour walk to get down to Guild level taking those tunnels, so hopefully there won't be much activity here.

Computer Lab Tunnel: This entrance is via the computer lab. I expect there will be shadows here since this path holds the location of the first Angel Player server center. It's destroyed and abandoned now, Haruhi and I have already checked it out, but I can guarantee he knows about that one and he'll have predicted we might try to go down there again if he didn't know we'd already checked.

Team leaders will decide shifts. There should be at least two people on guard at each tunnel at all times with the other members on standby in case anything happens. If anyone else would like to sign up for the SSS or help out, get in contact with me ASAP. Any questions? Anyone got ideas for how to take back the surface?

WHAT: School Festival Day 3: The Underground Opens / Journey to Guild
WHEN: 9/30/3013. Any time.
WHERE: Surface, passages to Guild, Guild.
WARNINGS: Fighting, language, freakouts!! Let me know if there's anything else!
SUMMARY: After dealing with the shadows for a day, The SSS finally managed to get a team down into Guild to clear out any shadows that had made it down that far already. The Underground is being announced as temporary cover and any may head down there if they choose to.

It'd been quite a few hours since the shadows had first appeared, but it wasn't as though no one had been doing anything. Everyone had been fighting, hiding, running-- anything they could to keep others safe. It wasn't much but around 3:00AM on the 30th, a mass series of text messages was sent out to everyone.

Message 1: Guild cleared of shadows. Need fighters to protect. SSS invites all to take shelter. Entrance in gym (seats pulled, take ladder in pull-out) or underwater through river. Find SSS member to lead you. Traps still set. Be careful. SSS will send out regular teams to fetch bodies who failed to get in. Can't disarm to keep shadows out. Attached is list in order of booby traps for Gym entrance.

Message 2: Ceiling Hammers (Just don't get hit)
Rolling Boulder- whole tunnel. Run. Take corridor on right.
Lasers- Use smoke bombs near entrance to see & dodge. Panel code is 44917.
Collapsing Ceiling- Run. Panel code 62108.
Go down hall, keep to edge or floor will fall into pit of spikes.
Get into underwater area. Swim through underwater hall. Head toward side with stairs.
Ignore puppy it is just a toy.
Don't fall down waterfall.
Take stairs and follow until reach Guild.

WHAT: School Festival Day 2: A Special Message Part II
WHEN: 9/29/3013
WHERE: School Festival > wherever your character heads after that.
WARNINGS: Violence, shadows and all they entail, possibly angst, language as always-- do I really need to keep warning for language? We've got a bunch of sailors here every single one of these logs has like a million curse words in it even if they're playing checkers.
SUMMARY: NPCs freeze, turn into shadows after an eerie message from The Programmer.

[ DAY 2 ]
It's happening again. The School Festival had been going as planned, merriment all around, then everything stopped around noon. The NPCs froze in their place, most of the sound dwindled off because of how significant of a presence they hold in the school's population. There is no mirthful laughter any more, just silence and the questionings of those who were not frozen.

The wait is nowhere near as long as the previous freezings though. No, after about 10 minutes something different happens: There's a crackling in the air as the PA system flickers on. It sounds a little off though, like it may not be being accessed from its usual origin point. A male's voice comes from it, an uncertain tone plaguing his words. Like he's trying to be confident, but he has public speaking problems because who would want to talk to an entire school like this when they have no practice and have been an NPC for god knows how long?

"Hello? Is this thing-- is-- okay, yes, good, it's on. Um... Hm, I've frozen the NPCs. That was me. The last few times were a test. Everyone noticed this place has been a little off lately right? Glitches, everywhere, couldn't be helped but it's okay now. It should be. I managed to fix a few of them. Where'd the phones come from though..? That's not mine."

A cough, then the voice starts up again.

"I kept having to wake up, again, and again, and again, and I keep seeing different things and I don't get it. I don't. I don't want to disappear because I want to see her again, but you all have the chance. Some of you had the opportunity and you're still here. Why is it? That program said you were seeking continuance. He's been acting a little weird, I didn't ask him to do that, no. I'll fix him, he might be a little broken, but you all-- you all try so hard to stay but you know you'll go mad, don't you? After 50, after 100 years. Too long here and it gets to you, you're not yourself, and all you want never comes. It just hurts and it can't be fixed so I made this to fix it.

You all want to be immortal with me right? That's what the answers were, that you didn't want to die or disappear or move on, so I'm going to grant your wish. We're all going to stay here forever. I'm glad there are people who agree with me that it's better than never seeing those you lost again, than forgetting them. I'll never forget. Even if I'm an NPC, it just holds it in until I awake again, so we'll all be here together. I can do that, and I will. You're welcome."

The PA flickers off. The NPCs are still frozen and nothing moves for a full minute, then suddenly every one of the NPCs flickers, what looks like binary data sparks a few times, then the NPCs rapidly transform into shadows. They're not frozen anymore. Better run.

WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!

POP POP!

The crisp crackle of confetti cannons going off signals the start of the school festival around 10am! The whole school has been preparing for the month beforehand and an excited vibe seems to be fluttering through the whole afterlife! There are games, cafes, performances-- all sorts of things! There's definitely got to be something that'll tickle your fancy. There are no classes today, the dining hall is closed, and it looks like there's just a huge, fantastic festival going on.

For being dead, it sure seems lively!

Who: Everyone is invited!
What: Haruhi decides to make a movie for the school festival and decides that anybody is allowed to be in it. Even if you're not going to make the cut as a role, there's still openings for other jobs! Along with just watching people make a huge fool of themselves.

Starting on the 17th, Haruhi will make an announcement via the PA, reminding everyone that if they want to be a part of the huge movie project she's doing for the school festival, they better show up in the auditorium after class. Last person who comes? Will be getting a penalty.

She'll even warn them.

And she might even attempt to drag some people along, too! It's not as if they have any choice in the matter. Besides, it's just a movie. What could possibly go wrong?

Who: Hinata, Yuri
What: Just some talking.
Where: The infirmary.
When: A few days after Hinata arrived.
Warnings: Bloodshed!

[ Hinata arriving had formed some complications for Yuri. It wasn't necessarily that there would be any direct problems so much as the fact that her cofounder, the person that she trusted most, had been gone for a year. While she completely knew that it wasn't his fault on a conscious level, there was still the fact that she had to adjust to him being in her life again. Having someone who she would normally trust and rely on feel like a friend she hadn't seen in forever held its own set of intimidations. There was a huge chance that she would have to deal with Hinata when he finally figured out that he'd been gone for a year.

So naturally, Yuri had been keeping busy with planning things. The school festival sounded like a good point to try to observe any abnormal activity. Finding the programmer was something Yuri wanted to focus on, so the SSS's participation in a school-wide event that was outside of the original parameters of the afterlife was key. Figuring out what to do that would draw apparent NPC attention to the SSS without eliciting severe negative reactions from the NPC staff members would be--

"YURIIIP--!"

Yuri attention was broken by the door rather suddenly slamming open, revealing a flash of blue getting smashed out the adjacent window by an over-sized hammer with a loud crash of shattering glass. A few seconds passed as the hammer reset itself and Yuri sighed, putting her notes away to go take care of the current situation. Hinata having figured it out was probably the only reason that he'd forget the door had a trap (he was an idiot, but usually not that level of stupid), which meant Yuri was going to have to deal with this. She closed the door and went downstairs to go collect her co-founder and take him to the infirmary. Usually she would've had someone else do it, but this situation was going to be one that she needed to be a one-on-one conversation. So once she got him to the nurse's office, Yuri went to go change clothes. Blood was messy, you know, and sitting there with Hinata's blood all over her wasn't comfortable. When she returned, she sat down in a chair next to the bed she'd tossed Hinata in and leaned back, going back to trying to informally brainstorm some ideas. ]

Where: Boys are in the , girls are in the SSS Headquarters.
Warnings: All kinds of shenanigans including a hot or not discussion. Let a mod know if there's anything you need to update in here as soon as it crops up! And possible violence but we have a bunch of violent buttheads here when is that ever not a possibility??

SLEEPOVER IN THE SSS HEADQUARTERS!

Girls only, September 14th. BYO Mattress and we'll lay them across the whole floor and it'll be like a bounce house but with mattresses! Food and drinks provided. Entertainment will include making fun of the boys, rating them on various factors, laughing at really embarrassing stories, horror stories, and basically anything else you can think of. Also kicking any perverts who come near the sleepover in places they won't appreciate. PJs only.

BOYS ONLY! SLEEPOVER IN THE GYM

The girls think they can have a sleepover and leave us out of the fun, but they're wrong! Join the Boys Only sleepover on the same night as the girls' for a great hang-out time! Food and drinks will be there. There'll be games too! And we're TOTALLY NOT GOING TO SPY ON THE GIRLS NO SIRREE.

Obviously anyone can get into any event-- it's not like there's security besides the people at the sleepover. But be careful! If you get caught, who knows what horrors await those who are found sneaking in to a sleepover they weren't invited to!
