Day 1: School Festival

WHAT: School Festival Day 1
WHEN: 9/28/3013. Morning through evening.
WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Should be PG-13 for language and possibly violence because there's always someone. But should mostly be fun & fluffy. Let me know if anything changes.

POP POP!

The crisp crackle of confetti cannons going off signals the start of the school festival around 10am! The whole school has been preparing for the month beforehand and an excited vibe seems to be fluttering through the whole afterlife! There are games, cafes, performances-- all sorts of things! There's definitely got to be something that'll tickle your fancy. There are no classes today, the dining hall is closed, and it looks like there's just a huge, fantastic festival going on.

For being dead, it sure seems lively!

After Dark Bonfire & Fireworks

After dark, a huge bonfire is going to be lit in the middle of one of the sports fields. There'll be music, dancing, and marshmallows as the night winds down. At around 10:00pm, a fireworks show will begin! Enjoy the colorful explosions in the sky with a friend (or someone more~?)

[ Yamashita's been pretty down about the general 'being dead' business, but there could have been no better distraction than a school festival. Not that it was hard to distract Yamashita in any case.

Right now, he's just so exciting. Stuffing himself with marshmallows and then when he's done with that, exclaiming his feelings out loud, accompanied by more gestures than you ever really wanted to see. ]

Fantastic! Abso-absolutely wonderful! These are the best days of student life, certainly! All kinds of people -hot chicks and cool boys and everyone else- unite to have fun and eat delicious food... It really is the best!

[conversationalist]

You sound like you really like this.

[He could talk to anyone, after all. Kotarou was roasting his own marshmallows, watching his gestures and movements with a slight smile.]

[ Yamashita nods and leans over a bit, still beaming. ]

Of course! Don't you?

It's so much better than just sitting around in boring classrooms.

[Kotarou sits around, watching the dancing and listening to the upbeat music. The festivities always helped all students unwind, even if technically he was/wasn't a student anyway. He laughed at many of the dances, and relaxed to his own tune of the beats playing. You could probably find him doing one of these things.

Alternatively, he could be roasting his own marshmallows too!]

[If it didn't end at night with colorful fireworks, it wouldn't have been an eventful closing night. Kotarou watches with one hand in his pockets. The view? Fantastic. He could hear the glee of NPCs being plenty excited after any explosive. For what they were, they did react pretty human like.

So he...simply watches. Is he thinking? Maybe. Would that be right? Maybe. But right now, he's just focusing on the colors in the sky.]

Uwaah, they're so pretty...

[ But halfway through her marvelling, Madoka manages to misstep and bump right into a nearby person - said person just happening to be Kotarou. She lets out a squeak at the contact. As usually. ]

A.. ah, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to! [ As if she just committed some huge crime. ]

[conversationalist]

[The bump didn't nearly phase him as much as it might've to Madoka, but it was indeed a surprise to see it was her all along. The apologetic nature of her scuffled out of course. Typical for her.

She should watch where she steps.]

Hey, Kaname-san. [She must've not have recognized him as if apologizing was merely on reaction.]

[crayoned]

[At first she's hesitant to come over, taking their last run-in into consideration. But those marshmallows... Yeah okay, she'll take a risk and head over to see what's up. She doesn't so much 'head over' as she keeps her distance from the bonfire and calls out to Kotarou to grab his attention though.]

What are you cooking? It smells good.

[conversationalist]

[He sits, twisting and turning the stick the marshmallows were mounted on, before hearing the girl's voice from afar. He knew it from anywhere.]

...haven't you had a marshmallow before? Also, for the record, cooties don't exist.

* It almost seems bittersweet to see a bonfire and finding out that one was 'dead'. The only time they really all gathered around was to watch the bodies burn and give final prayers and hopes to the deceased. Maybe someone's holding a bonfire back home for the others that are here with her.

Having to really come to the realization that she's dead still took some getting used to. She still doesn't want to believe it and even more so with friends there but with Marco being the one to greet them, it almost does seem like heaven. A strange heaven, at least.

Lost in thought, she holds out her hands to the warm fire that flickers and dances around, savoring the warmth it brings. Never having seen Fireworks before, she's in for a real treat. *

[ Ymir can't help but notice Christa by the campfire, as well as the look she gives the flames. She understands the picture immediately, but says nothing about it.

More like she wouldn't know what to say about it, because comforting isn't exactly Ymir's forte. The bonfire's kind of giving her chills, too. ]

* The familiarity of the voice brings comfort. Breaking her eyes away from the flames, she glances over to Ymir and offers a small wave and smile. *

I didn't think you'd be interested in this sort of gathering. I found some sweets to bring back to you though.

[ Yuri's definitely not really one of the school spirit types of people, so most of the day she spent making sure that people were getting plunged into icy cold water and observing to see if there were any NPCs that exhibited preferences in that.

Unfortunately, there hadn't been any, but at least it was amusing to get to watch her friends (CODENAME: Members of the SSS) scream about how cold it was.

As the day wound into night, Yuri had moved over to go sit at the top of the stands, her feet up on the bench in front of her and her back leaning against the wire fence behind her as she stared up and waited for the fireworks to start. ]

[ Kohaku doesn't really know what this entire day was about. His world was so disturbingly different from this one, that sometimes he just didn't know on what standard to judge anymore.

Spotting Yuri, he figures he can as well make his way over to a person he knew. ]

Yo! Is this mess seriously how things in other worlds always go?

[tenminutes]

Basically.

[ She's probably not the best person to ask. Her social life when she was alive was pretty lacking, after all. Her first friends weren't made until after she was dead. ]

Festivals happen every now and then. Usually they're more to draw the non-students and parents in to show off the school, so it seems a little off here. But people are having fun so it's a good break for everyone.

[As everyone gathered for the fireworks display, he scanned the crowd for familiar faces, eventually spotting Yuri sitting all the way up on the bleachers. He smiled to himself, casually making his way up with a small bag of cookies and a hot tea in hand.]

Here. [The light chill of the night air had started to settle around them, so he figured bringing her something warm to drink would be appreciated.] Did you have fun today, Yurippe?

[Without feeling the need to ask, he sits down beside her on the bleachers, enjoying this moment of quiet before the fireworks began. ]

[ Yes good hot tea. She holds her hands out for it when he brings it over, almost as though she knew he'd brought it for her.

Or maybe she was just planning on taking his if it wasn't. Really, it'd be rude if it wasn't for her anyway. ]

It's not like I was having fun. We're in the middle of a mission, you know.

[ Wow Yuri can you tsun a little harder?? ]

[It takes her a little while to hurry up the stands, especially when her arms are a little full with her haul of prizes, but eventually she makes it up to Yuri without dropping any of her new toys.]

Look what I won today! Aren't they pretty? I like the one with green eyes the most.

[They're by no means her dolls from the gallery, but they're still all pretty cute. Hopefully Yuri won't mind Mary showing off what she won before the fireworks kick off.]

Green eyes are a good color to have.

[ They both have green eyes after all. Though Yuri does notice something: All the dolls are blue.. huh. Yuri doesn't mind, of course, but she definitely noticed. ]

[Fireworks... Jean's seen these before, a long time ago. Sadly, his world hasn't had much to celebrate over in the past couple years. When he was younger his mother would take him once a year (before things really started to get bad) allll the way into the interior to see the fireworks they put off for the kings birthday.

Colorful things, huh? He's just sitting on one of the mini-stone walls close to the festival area, this place was so clean-- even felt like the interior. The only thing really missing was the crowd..]

[Just like last year, Accelerator stays mostly out of the way, avoiding others to an obvious extent. He has however located a spot near the bonfire where he can sit and watch or get up now and then to roast marshmallows (completely out of boredom and for something to snack on, totally), and has parked himself there. Mostly, he stares absently into the fire or sends a casual glance around to see who's nearby.]

[ Homura's not the type to hang out with friends or people in general, which is why she's sitting all alone in the bonfire, making some smores in silence. ]

[Sorry, he never liked it when people were all alone like this, so he'll be over towards Homura with a roasted marshmallow in hand, thinking that maybe he should talk to her.]

You look pretty alone.

I've been alone for a while.

[ With no parents, no friends (besides Madoka, of course). ]

[ Wow, Homura, you don't get to hang out by yourself!! At least not when it's in such a sad way, sitting there all alone..

Madoka can't let her do that, either way. She promised to herself she'd at least try to make Homura happy in exchange for all the girl did for her, so.. ]

Um.. Homura-chan, don't you want to have fun with everyone else?
