Day 1: School Festival

WHAT: School Festival Day 1
WHEN: 9/28/3013. Morning through evening.
WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Should be PG-13 for language and possibly violence because there's always someone. But should mostly be fun & fluffy. Let me know if anything changes.

POP POP!

The crisp crackle of confetti cannons going off signals the start of the school festival around 10am! The whole school has been preparing for the month beforehand and an excited vibe seems to be fluttering through the whole afterlife! There are games, cafes, performances-- all sorts of things! There's definitely got to be something that'll tickle your fancy. There are no classes today, the dining hall is closed, and it looks like there's just a huge, fantastic festival going on.

For being dead, it sure seems lively!

There are various booths with games throughout the festival. Scooping up goldfish, shooting corks at stuffed animals to win them, tossing hoops-- you know, the usual carnival stuff. Have fun and be creative! If you want your character to play a game that isn't one of the ones listed, feel free to as long as it fits the mood.

[ Mana is staring at a gloomy looking, black bat-like bear at the cork shooting. She's already tried hitting it and ended up a small weird looking thing (octopus) in several colors that she couldn't even identify.

There are tears in her eyes because that bear reminds her of someone. ]

Nue-saaaaaannnn....

[conversationalist]

[Festivals were never fun alone, and yet Kotarou--attending to the depths of his roots--did anyway. Did he not have anything else to do? Or maybe this festival reminded him of back home; the Harvest Festival.

Kotarou only spotted the memorable long pink hair Mana had, casually patting her head when he walks over.]

You want that one, right?

[Maybe this will give him a good time. She was a familiar face after all.]

[ She is surprised that someone suddenly shows up, and jumps a little and turns while squeezing the octopus closer. She then blinks, and smiles widely. ]

Helloooo~

[ Then she nods. ]

Yes, but Mana can't hit iiiit.

[conversationalist]

[This is the part where he's supposed to look cool, right? He looks at what she wanted.

...She sure has weird taste. Kotarou then, takes a step forward.]

If I hit it in one, you think I'd get a bonus prize? [He's already decided to get it for her.]

[honestmana]

[ Of course he can! At least if Mana is asked. ]

If you want thiiiiis, Mana can give it to you? [ She thinks that's what he means. The octopus. ]

[Hinata is just wandering through the game stalls, trying to decide if he wants any of the prizes... when he sees Mana tearing up and staring longingly at a surprisingly gloomy looking toy. It seems an odd choice for someone who looks so adorable...]

[But hey, who is he to judge? No girl deserves to cry at a festival, they're supposed to be fun! He walks over, slipping his hands casually into his pockets, standing beside her.]

Something wrong?

[honestmana]

[ She turns, looks up at him, and then remembers who he is. He's one of the nice boys teaching her things! ]

Mana was trying to get that doll that looks like Nue-san, but she's unable toooo.

[frequent_flyer]

[He glances back up at the toy, and then at the game he has to play to win it. Cork gun game? That's not so hard! He looks back down at her, smiling softly.]

...Can I try to get it for you?

A: [ Guess who's rocking these games? Not Ymir. She seems to get the hang of tossing hoops, but she's awful at scooping up goldfish. She's too stubborn to give up though, she's getting that god damned fish even if it's the last thing she does. ]

B: [ Who wants to challenge her to a game? She's never really tried most of these games out before, but she's got hell of a competitive streak. Anything goes, just rile her up enough... ]

[It's not been long since the last time he went goldfish scooping, but it still took a few attempts before Kotarou managed to win himself a goldfish. While the NPC is busy bagging his catch he turns to watch Ymir try her luck for a moment or so.]

S'kinda hard on the first few tries, huh neechan?

[yme]

[ She doesn't really realize he's talking to her ("what the fuck's a neechan"), but as there are no one else around but some npcs, she turns to him. ]

You talking to me?

[ Ymir's definitely a ball of frustration as she fails getting a goldfish for the third time. ]

Yeah? Not like I'm gonna try talking with those other guys.

[Since the NPCs are the worlds worst conversationalists.]

Might wanna try going for a fish near the edge or a corner, then just move in real slow.

[crayoned]

[She won't be much of a challenge seeing as Mary has never played any of these games in her life, before now anyway, but she'll happily try and take Ymir on all the same. Plus they're roommates, and that makes them friends, and friends do things together or something.

Mary lightly taps Ymir on the arm to get her attention before pointing at the cork shooting range.]

Let's play that game! I almost won a toy the last time I tried it.

[ Oh, it's her. Ymir kinda shrugs. ]

Sure, why not.

[ She's bored, and also skipping out on the maid café, so she'll let Mary drag her over to the game. ]

[crayoned]

Yay! Come on, before someone gets there first!

[She doesn't want to wait while someone else has a turn, even if there are plenty of cork popping rifles to go around. Mary makes sure Ymir is following along before running the rest of the way over and grabbing one of the rifles.

Hmm, now which toy does she want to try and get this time...]

[ You know those games with the mini basketball hoops and you have to shoot them in to get points and ahahaha

Yeah Midorima's here trying to gather up on stuffed animals in case they fit his lucky items in the future DEAL WITH IT

he's not missing a single shot either do you know how easy this is for a guy whose range is the whole court!? ]

[Yosuke pauses nearby to watch Midorima for a minute or two before he comments:]

Holy crap, dude! Have you missed any yet?

[accurately]

I never miss.

[ He wouldn't make the shot unless he was certain he'd make it. ]

I'm surprised they're still letting you play. You sure it's even a game anymore?

[He's only teasing, but seriously, he's probably going to clean them out!]

[These are not the kind of "games" that Reisuke is used to, but there's not a whole lot he can do about that, at least for now. He's a little short for shooting corks or tossing hoops, but he's an elite, so of course he's not gonna let a height problem stop him from doing what he wants! (And maybe he would be lucky enough to find a temporary replacement for his missing hand puppets...?)

He'll also try his hand at catching goldfish too--he's never done this before though (his parents never took him to a festival, after all...), so he's kind of watching other people first to see how it's done.]

[Mary is waiting for her turn to shoot corks at things, eying up a particularly weird looking doll as her target. It's might not be like her dolls from back in the gallery, but it was blue. And it had some red on it too! So she wants it.

Before Reisuke has the chance to shoot at anything, Mary speaks up behind him.]

What prize are you thinking of going for?

[hypervision]

[...Oh, another kid. He was starting to wonder if he was one of the only young kids here.]

I dunno, maybe that one? [He points to a rather plain button-eyed doll with pink hair. He hasn't found any hand puppets yet, so...well, pretending to try to shoot corks at a pink-haired doll might be fun.] Which one are you gonna try to get?

[crayoned]

Oh! That one looks cute, I like the eyes and the hair. [Pink is a pretty cool colour, plus the button eyes are a nice touch. It's nowhere as cute as her choice though.] I'm gonna try for that one! The blue one, in the middle!

[She leans forward on the counter where the corks and pop guns are so she can point right at the blue doll she wants.]

[Ishimaru doesn't go to festivals a lot. Not to have fun, anyway, because ha ha ha what is fun, but helping out with booths and or supervising was a thing that happened.

But he's never really played any of the games before. So for once, he decided to try some of them out. The theory is simple enough, so it shouldn't be much of a problem, right?

...yeah, he hasn't won a single thing yet. He's tossing hoops and from the looks of it, he's been there a while. With each failed toss, he's looking more determined.]

This is... proving more difficult than I thought!
