Day 1: School Festival

WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: School Festival Day 1
WHEN: 9/28/3013. Morning through evening.
WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Should be PG-13 for language and possibly violence because there's always someone. But should mostly be fun & fluffy. Let me know if anything changes.
SUMMARY: The first day of the school festival! Details here!

POP POP!

The crisp crackle of confetti cannons going off signals the start of the school festival around 10am! The whole school has been preparing for the month beforehand and an excited vibe seems to be fluttering through the whole afterlife! There are games, cafes, performances-- all sorts of things! There's definitely got to be something that'll tickle your fancy. There are no classes today, the dining hall is closed, and it looks like there's just a huge, fantastic festival going on.

For being dead, it sure seems lively!

[Reisuke frowns a little at how the guy seems unsure about giving it to us.]

I won, so he has to! [When the guy seems to dwell a few seconds longer on it, Reisuke suddenly gets an idea...which involves casually turning the cork gun in the NPC's direction. Totally not threatening to shoot him, we swear. We just happen to still be holding a loaded cork gun in our hands and it just happens to be pointing at the NPC--oh, what a silly child we are for clearly not knowing that it's dangerous to point this at someone's face...]

We won, right? Can we have our prize now, Onii-chan?

[crayoned]

[Wow no, the NPC doesn't want to lose an eye over some little toy. So yeah, Reisuke gets his prize. Noticing the NPC now seems more than happy to practically throw the prize away, Mary chimes in.]

And that one too, the blue one. We want that one!

[The NPC obliges and quickly tosses the blue doll over as well before hurrying off in hopes of avoiding any corks flying their way. A few NPCs passing by seem to stop and stare. That isn't fair, pointing the gun at the poor person running the game...

Mary couldn't care less however, she got the prize she wanted and Reisuke got what he wanted. Everybody wins!]

[Victory!] Ehehehe, that was really fun! And you even got the doll you wanted too!

[...Oh! Just now realizing he hasn't introduced himself, as he now turns his attention to her.]

I'm Reisuke Houjou! What's your name?

[crayoned]

It was, you're really good at this game! I had fun just watching you.

[She takes a moment to look over her doll and hug it close, then she smiles.]

My name is Mary, it's nice to meet you Reisuke!

[hypervision]

It's nice to meet you too, Mary-chan! [He even moves one of the arms of the pink-haired doll to wave at her in greeting when he says it. It may not be a handpuppet, but it'll have to do for now.] Are there any other games you wanna play here?

[crayoned]

[Oh that's so cute. She can't resist doing the same with her own doll, moving one of its arms to say hello before nodding its head. Its nice to mee you as well, other doll!]

Umm, I'm not sure. I want to try all of them so maaaybeee... The one with the hoops next. That one looks fun too!

[hypervision]

Okay! Then let's go play that one!

[Tossing hoops is a great way to practice your aim when it comes to throwing things, right?]

[crayoned]

[Yes, yes it is. And who knows when you might need to throw things at someone. Or something. Like a mean punk rocker slash baseball player who pokes fun at your nickname.]

Yay, okay! Race you to it!

[Off she runs! Keep up Reisuke!]

[hypervision]

You're on! [He's an elite, of course he can keep up! He had a lot of practice when attempting to run away from Yuno, after all. So, while he's not in the lead, he does keep up a steady pace with her when they race over to the hoops, pausing to catch his breath momentarily once they reach their goal.]

Wow, you're really fast, Mary-chan!

[crayoned]

[Mary needs a moment to take a breather as well, taking quick breaths in between letting out a giggle here and there.]

You too, you kept up with me the whole way! [Once she's caught her breath, Mary quickly snatches up a few hoops and loops them over one of her arms so she can hold onto them.] I'm gonna go first this time. Let's see...

[Which prize does she go for this time. There don't seem to be any dolls at this particular game, most of the toys seem to be animal themed. But lo and behold, something blue. That octopus is going down.]

[hypervision]

Okay! Good luck!

[He'll go ahead and watch her try to get the octopus first. (Maybe observe and figure out any trick to this game so that he'll have an easier time with tossing them when it's his turn...)]

[crayoned]

[Mary gives Reisuke a quick nod before turning to stare down her target. She tests one of her hoops in her hand for a moment, shaking it up and down to see how heavy it is. For a moment it almost looks as though Mary knows what she's doing...

That is until she hurls the hoop with enough force to smack the poor octopus toy in the face, knocking it off of the stand it was set up on and onto the floor.]

There, I got it! And on my first try too! [This is how you're meant to play this game right.]

[hypervision]

Good job, Mary-chan! [Yes that is totally how you play the game--wait why is that NPC shaking his head.]

...Huh? Was that not good enough? [The NPC seems to think so, anyway. Sorry Mary.]

[crayoned]

Huh, why? It fell off, I should have won. [This NPC is a loser, but at least they're nice enough to give Mary and Reisuke a demonstration of how this particular game is won.

Though the demonstration isn't so much nice as it is slow and condescending, with the NPC making an exaggerated show of slipping a hoop over one of the plush toys to make sure the two kids who don't know what they're doing get a clue.]

Oh... So that's how you do it. [This NPC is still a loser.] Put the blue prize back up, I'm gonna try again!

[hypervision]

[Reisuke is actually glaring a little at the NPC during their presentation--you don't have to be condescending you jerk, you should be glad we don't have a taser gun with us right now to use on you...

The NPC thankfully stops and puts the prize back up, so he ignores him and turns his attention to Mary.]

Okay! I hope you'll be able to get it for sure this time!

[crayoned]

[Whoah, what's a taser? She could get behind having a taser. Think of all the toys they could grab while the NPC isn't looking. Because they were tasered.]

I do too! This time I'm sure to win...

[So here she goes, giving it a second go. She's not sure if its cheating or not to lean as far forward as she can over the counter so she's practically placing the hoop on the prize, but whatever, she already thought she won last time so she wants to win for real this time.

With a flick of her wrist, Mary tosses the hoop over the head of the octopus. The hoop is definitely on the octopus, but it landed askew so one part of the ring is still balanced on the octopus' head. Close enough, right?]

[hypervision]

[Maybe they could try to get a hold of some tasers here for next time something like this happens...I mean uh, the NPC seems unsure, which prompts Reisuke to frown a little.]

Come on Onii-chan, give it to us! Mary-chan got it that time, right? [The NPC is still looking between them and the toy as if debating on whether it counts or not--just their luck that they had to get an annoying indecisive NPC to deal with here. >_>]

[crayoned]

[Friendly reminder that this NPC is still a loser. Wow. While the NPC is still figuring out whether Mary's last attempt counts as a win or not, Mary throws a second hoop that lands on the octopus. And a third.]

Reisuke is right! Now I've really won, right? I got all three on there and everything.

[Mary joins Resiuke in frowning at the NPC. Come ooon, give her the prize already]

[Reisuke eyes the rings, wondering if it would be possible to threaten an NPC with them--maybe we could throw them at his face? But the NPC finally seems to give in before that becomes necessary, removing the rings before handing the octopus out for Mary to take.]

[crayoned]

Oh, yay! Thank you! [Mary snatches the octopus up and gives it a squeeze. She likes her first prize more, but the octopus is still pretty cute all the same. Cradling both of her prize in her arms now, Mary shakes one of the octopus' tentacles up and down and gives Reisuke a wave.]

Now I have two new friends, I hope they get along. [Oh!] And you too Reisuke! You're my friend as well.

[hypervision]

I am? [That actually surprises him a little--very few people have ever referred to him as a friend, and that wasn't something that happened until he ended up here in the afterlife. It's very likely that a lot of people here would stop wanting to be his friend after knowing what he was really like, but for now, he smiles too.]

Thanks, Mary-chan. You're my friend too!

[crayoned]

[They're in pretty much the same boat when it comes to the friend department. She's not sure how the people she knows would react if they ever found out what happened back at the gallery, but for the time being she's just happy to have so many friends here.]

That's good, I'm glad! There are so many grown-ups and people that are older than me here. Its nice to have a friend closer to my age.

[hypervision]

Yeah! I'm really glad to have a friend like you to play with now too!

[Nothing wrong with the adults here, but it's nice to have actual kids to play with too. Less likely to call him out on odd behavior, maybe.]
