WHAT: School Festival Day 3: The Underground Opens / Journey to Guild
WHEN: 9/30/3013. Any time.
WHERE: Surface, passages to Guild, Guild.
WARNINGS: Fighting, language, freakouts!! Let me know if there's anything else!
SUMMARY: After dealing with the shadows for a day, The SSS finally managed to get a team down into Guild to clear out any shadows that had made it down that far already. The Underground is being announced as temporary cover and any may head down there if they choose to.

It'd been quite a few hours since the shadows had first appeared, but it wasn't as though no one had been doing anything. Everyone had been fighting, hiding, running-- anything they could to keep others safe. It wasn't much but around 3:00AM on the 30th, a mass series of text messages was sent out to everyone.

Message 1: Guild cleared of shadows. Need fighters to protect. SSS invites all to take shelter. Entrance in gym (seats pulled, take ladder in pull-out) or underwater through river. Find SSS member to lead you. Traps still set. Be careful. SSS will send out regular teams to fetch bodies who failed to get in. Can't disarm to keep shadows out. Attached is list in order of booby traps for Gym entrance.

Message 2: Ceiling Hammers (Just don't get hit)
Rolling Boulder- whole tunnel. Run. Take corridor on right.
Lasers- Use smoke bombs near entrance to see & dodge. Panel code is 44917.
Collapsing Ceiling- Run. Panel code 62108.
Go down hall, keep to edge or floor will fall into pit of spikes.
Get into underwater area. Swim through underwater hall. Head toward side with stairs.
Ignore puppy it is just a toy.
Don't fall down waterfall.
Take stairs and follow until reach Guild.

[During the daylight hours, starting just before sunrise, Hinata would be making trips back to the surface. His goal was to find anyone who hadn't made it down underground on the previous day.]

A:
[He'd start in the typical areas: the dorms, the SSS headquarters, the classrooms... Anywhere with a door that could be barricaded. If he did happen upon a locked or otherwise jammed door, he'd check to make sure the coast was clear before knocking firmly.]

[Hinata could be found at any point during the day, occasionally delivering those he could find to the SSS members standing by at the entrance to the underground tunnels. Whatever draws out those who needs help, be it gunfire or his calls for anyone that could hear him, he seemed to know what he was doing and could probably be of assistance.]

[Assuming he has his phone on him, as Hinata is searching around the campus, he may hear it go off thanks to a certain text message from a certain concerned bro.]

[He was definitely not expecting this sort of welcoming party to the afterlife, or whatever the hell he was in. If this was heaven, he didn't like it one bit. Plus whatever the hell those things were outside...he wasn't having anything to do with it. So, he's been sleeping in the classrooms all this time, having a nice nap until the knocking had jarred him awake. With a little groan, he sits up and scratches his head, a yawn coming out.]

What is it? I can't have a little nap to help tide over all of the chaos that's going outside? [He doesn't seem ticked, but...] But to answer your question, there's no one in here. [...yes, that's it.]

[Celica finds her way into the Guild's entrance easily enough, and somehow manages to avoid shadows along the way. Once she gets in through the gym entrance, she takes a look at the booby trap instructions and... geez, this sure looks fun. Being by oneself while going through those is probably awfully dangerous, and she figures a buddy system may be best. As such, while waiting around just past the entrance, she sends out a mass text message.]

hello everyone!! i hope everyone is staying safe and making their way to that guild place. i just got through the gym entrance, but i think it would be best if we had some sort of buddy system to make it through all the traps. (´･_･`) two eyes are better than one, so!! so would anyone like to go down there with me??

[...and then after a moment she adds:]

[Even though the shadows' presence still managed to make Yosuke feel kind of nervous, he definitely wasn't the first to ditch the school grounds and get as far away from them as he could. Nope, he's seen plenty of people get caught by these things before and he was going to do his damnedest to make sure it didn't happen again. That's why, when he sees Celica, he calls out to her, sounding almost a little overeager as he does so.]

Hey, Celica-chan! Are you headed down to the Guild?

[...you know, after he says it, he realizes that's a pretty stupid question! It would figure that as soon as he opened his mouth, he was already embarrassing himself. But he can't help it, okay, he's worried! :(]

[Somehow, against all odds, Reisuke has managed to come here on his own so far. He's not sure what the deal is with the shadows, but from what he can tell, letting them touch you is apparently bad news. He carefully reads the messages over, especially the instructions regarding the traps.

...Heh. It's actually a little unfortunate that Yuno isn't here, he would have loved trying to use these kind of traps on her. But for now, this is a game of wits--he'll have to prove how much of an elite he is by dodging all the traps! Ｏ(≧∇≦)Ｏ

...Actually this is probably really dangerous for a small child to be doing on their own, so if anyone wishes to intervene, they're more than welcome to.]

[ Of course, she's already got blood on her from fucking up trying to get down here and she got knocked out for a while. It really isn't a pretty sight.

[There's something way too familiar about how fast things went from being calm and quiet to being... well, this. Shinji hates it, even though he knows he has nowhere near the same amount of responsibility that he had before. It was just so frustrating that things were always like this, no matter where he went. He was dead and he still couldn't avoid this stuff.

It wasn't exactly a miracle that Shinji had survived this long. He could stay out of the way if he tried—he'd managed to escape all kinds of weird situations before, after all. But even as he hid from the shadows and made his way to the gym, he couldn't help but wonder what the point of all this was. Getting caught by these shadows was supposed to be bad, but did it really matter in the end...? Even if they didn't have to worry about traps, he just wasn't sure if it was worth it.

...so he might need some coaxing to get going. Whoops.]

[ Yuri's on her way to do a routine run to try to find more people when she spots Shinji. ]

[Accelerator made it into Guild a while ago thanks to Yuri. His roommate has been something of an afterthought, but eventually, he bothers to text the guy. Check your phone, Shinji, it's telling you about an incoming text message.]

Upon arrival, the first site you will see at the top of the staircase while you're traveling further down is that of an industrial city...



There are a number of factories, small houses, scrap areas, cranes, construction yards, and bungalos with offices and minimal living facilities. It's not a 5 star resort, but it'll do until everyone comes up with a plan to take the surface back.

[By the evening of the third day, Hinata had gone to and from the surface more times than he could count. People needed help... he couldn't sit by and allow that, could he?]

[He was exhausted, dirty, and probably internally fretting over those he wasn't able to find. So for now, he had slumped against one of the buildings, sitting on the dusty ground. Every now and again, he'd call out to someone who needed help, forcing himself to his feet to go assist them, or maybe he'd just nod off to sleep right here...]

[This was the guy who helped him out to get here, right? It seemed like the afterlife got even more serious than Kotarou had thought. He should've taken the weird happenings more seriously...he should be taking a lot of things more seriously.

When he caught Hinata in the state that he's in, he couldn't help but come over to him and tap his shoulder.]

...You should take a break. If it'll help any, I can try and see what I can do.

Go take a swim.

[ It was mostly because she was flat out worried about him, but if he asked why she thought he needed to clean up and relax a little, she had a more clinical reason as usual. ]

If you look like a mess people will think you are one.

[He was in awe that something up on the surface--a high school--could have something like this right below it. This was the shelter for us, wasn't it? That's what the text said, after all. He watches people at work. Industrialization?

He sits against one of the houses, looking around at everyone. And this, his own hand. Those lights came out of it...just what exactly was that? A signal of giving up, he backs his head against the house, closing his eyes.

If no one catches him during this, or even after the fact. Kotarou sends this text to anyone he could.]

This is Kotarou Tennouji. Did everyone make it out? It's safe down here, so please follow the instructions. It's a bit weird, but I'd like to see more of you guys. [It'd be just sad if someone turned into an NPC with no mind of their own.

And with that, he places his phone next to him until it vibrates.]

[ he's definitely not dumb enough to question the messages when everything is going to hell above, but once he's arrived, he's eager to find somewhere that seems as safe and quiet as possible to reply to who he assumes is yuri. ]

Is there anything else I should know?

[ aside from that, he's not very fond of wandering about an industrial park, so he's going to keep an eye on the entrance instead. for acquaintances. ]

[Thanks to Hinata, Sonia and Mary had gotten underground safely. Sonia had let the girl go, knowing she would be safe. Sonia leans against a wall, and then, slowly, slowly, slides down until she's sitting and hugging her knees. What had happened? Didn't they finally find happiness? Wasn't their suffering over? Why did this have to happen...?]

[Why had it turned out like this? When she had first arrived, somebody had mentioned shadows but she hadn't thought about it since. Now, she's looking for somebody, anybody with answers. How do they get out? What do they do? She isn't about to just sit around and let them make her hide in some...what was this place, anyway?]

[Accelerator can be found checking out the buildings spread out all throughout Guild. If they're going to be down here for a while, it won't do not to know their surroundings and their supplies. On top of that, he's an antisocial jerkass, and this suits him better than mingling with the others. He's not impossible to find, though. You can run into him most places down there, checking out what there is.]

[ Yuri's been pretty much all over the place, trying to facilitate everything and make sure that everyone's settled in. She's headed out twice to try to find more people already, and it's questionable as to whether or not she's actually taking any breaks or giving herself a moment to breathe. Her cell phone is constantly at her side, making sure that she can answer any texts ASAP.

Right now, she was heading toward one of the other entrances to the cave with her weapon drawn. She hadn't mentioned the other entrances in her text, mostly because she hadn't wanted to draw attention to them because the shadows would notice where people flocked. If they all went toward the most heavily guarded one, that would be better. But that didn't mean she could leave the others unchecked. ]

Anyone willing to fight & capable, I'm running a sweep of a 2nd entrance to make sure that there's nothing getting in. North-west tunnel, 15 minutes.

B. Fishing
[ There isn't much food, so since everything's rationed until they can get more down here, so Yuri's leaving any of the preserved food reserves alone and is going to head over to the stream running through some of the tunnels to try to catch some fish. She's generally pretty good at it, so long as no noisy idiots come and bother her.

Come be a noisy idiot? Or a quiet idiot? Or just come check on her? Whatever you want. ]
