'Twas the night before Christmas...

WHO: All Secret Santa participants! And anyone else who wants to stop by
WHAT: Gift-giving and general Christmas festivities hurrah
WHEN: Evening of the 24th
WHERE: Boys' dorm lobby
WARNINGS: excessive holiday cheer
SUMMARY: The lobby of the boys' dorms has been decorated top-to-bottom with holiday decorations! Lights, a tree, you name it. Though at the beginning of the night, the tree actually has no ornaments! But there's a box full of them sitting beside it for any and all characters to help decorate it. Likewise, there's a growing pile of gift boxes beneath the tree with everyone's Secret Santa gifts. For any characters who did not participate in the event but do want to join in on the festivities, they may do so! And if they have any gifts, those may go under the tree along with everyone else's.

There's also a long table nearby with loads of various foods, ranging from cookies to cakes or even sandwiches and soups. Hot chocolate too, of course! Besides the usual couches and chairs in the lobby, there really aren't any additional chairs. But the floor is clean. Sitting on the floor isn't a big deal, you know...!

For reference, the Secret Santa list is here and there is a thread below for stating what gifts characters got one another. Feel free to join in with non-Secret Santa participants, but be sure to note in your comment that the gift is not of that variety. It is up to characters as to whether or not they want to reveal themselves as people's gift givers. If a character has decided not to give their assigned person a gift, make sure to either PM me at sleepybuster or poke me on plurk (peachdango), because Riki will be supplying those people with gifts himself!

GIFT EXCHANGING

RIKI TO LEVI

[Riki's gift to Levi is wrapped up in a medium-sized bag. It's simple, and holds just a dark green scarf along with a box of various types of cookies. They're not hand-made, but they are delicious! Within the bag there is also a small card that reads:

"Happy holidays, Levi-san! I don't know you very well so I was not sure exactly what to get you, but I hope you will enjoy these."

In the spirit of being a Secret Santa, he leaves his name out of the card. But whenever Levi finds his gift, he might come over and spill the beans anyway...]

OTONASHI TO MADOKA

[Otonashi's gift to Madoka is wrapped neatly in a red-wrapped box with festive bows on top of it. Inside is a box full of loaaaads of different hair bows, ranging from all different colors and sizes. There's also a giant fat shiba inu plushie (or hamster -- Otonashi's really not sure) inside. How adorable.

A card is also within the box and reads:

"Merry Christmas, Madoka. This will give me away anyway, but thanks for taking care of Mary back when we were stuck in Guild. I hope you enjoy the bows. The stuffed animal seemed cute so I thought you might like it, but I'm honestly not sure if it's supposed to be a dog or a hamster. But it's still cute, I think. Have a great holiday. -Otonashi"]

EREN TO HINATA

[Okay so this gift isn't really wrapped up or anything besides it being in a cheesy Christmas bag that has Santa saying "Feliz Navidad." The gift inside of it isn't much either, and is just a funky polar bear winter hat with matching gloves. Of course, a little card is inside too!

"I haven't really been able to celebrate a holiday and give gifts like this in a while so sorry if this is a weird gift. It's really warm though so it should help for the winter. -Eren Yaeger"]

CELICA TO JEAN

[Jean gets a huuuuuge box from Celica...! It's wrapped in a standard snowflake gift wrapping, and inside it has, uh... quite a handful of presents. The first is a basket of home-made brownies with white chocolate chips! And then there's a scarf similar to this one. Finally, there's uh... a dinosaur onesie. Yep.

A card is sitting in the brownie basket and says:

"Happy holidays, Jean! It seemed like you really liked the cookies Yosuke and I made before, so I decided to make you some brownies. --Oh, whoops, I guess that gives me away... Oh well. I hope this scarf can keep you warm! And I found this really strange dinosaur outfit... It made me laugh, so I decided to give that to you as well. I hope you like everything!"]

SONIA TO CAIUS

[She doesn't know you too well, Caius, so for the gift, she thought of something that could be treasured. Then, it hit her! So in this medium boxed wrapped up in gold wrapping and frilly ribbons is a deluxe camera!

Dearest Caius, I hope your holidays are merry and bright! With this, I hope you can cherish all of your most precious memories here! Merry Christmas! Love, Princess Sonia Nevermind.]

ACCELBUTT TO YURI

[The bag labeled 'To Yuri' is plain in design—some solid color with matching handles— and on the smaller end of medium in size. It's stapled shut at the top, so that it would be easy to tell if someone tried to open it before the recipient could. It's also... heavy. Whatever its contents are, they must be multiple objects that couldn't be described as lightweight.

At first seems pretty dismal and potentially disappointing, doesn't it? But no fear, Yuri. Inside are an Academy City-made handgun made predominantly with lightweight non-metal materials and three magazines that each hold a lot more rounds than the gun magazines she's used to. That's it. Just the handgun, the magazines, and a handwritten note:

"If you're the one who had the bright idea of pissing me off with signing me up for this stupid thing, looks like that backfired. Good fucking job. Try not to be too disappointed. I was highly tempted to refuse to bother in the first place, and then you'd have gotten nothing at all.

Only these clips work with it. Once you run out, you'll have to get more from me. Hopefully that won't ever be necessary, but who knows in this shitty place."

The note is unsigned. Apparently Accelerator felt it was obvious enough whom it's from.]

JEAN TO EREN

[Jean doesn't know much about Christmas, or who this Santa Claus person is supposed to be. Apparently they are all playing Santa Claus today, whatever that is supposed to mean. All he knows is that he signed up for something and ended up having to get Eren a gift "in secret."

Ugh, of all people of course it's Eren, that's just his luck. Thankfully he learned from observing that ugly sweaters seem to be a tradition for plenty of those 'modern day' folk have been wearing them around. The shop in town was also making special ones for just such the occasion.. might as well. What else is he supposed to get Yeager.]

Hey. [Confronting Eren rather Jean-like in his own board expression, giving him a badly wrapped sweater -- no box, just the sweater under the paper. No card or secretism, he failed to understand that part, he just hands it to Eren.]

For Celica

[There's a box with Celica's name on it, wrapped neatly in blue, snowman-covered wrapping paper. Inside the box, hidden beneath all the colorful tissue paper, is a doll, and a card with a simple message:

"Merry Christmas, Celica-san! I hope you enjoy yourself today. （　´∀｀）☆ Please have a nice holiday and stay safe!"

The card is unsigned, of course, because it's a secret!☆]

HARUHI TO SONIA

[ It was the night before Christmas, and Haruhi knew that Secret Santas were made to be secret. Which is why she's planning to time this right and hide the extravagant box that also has a bouquet of flowers with it, tags attached with Sonia's name on it. Within the box are various things: a beautiful blue dress and necklace and a tiara to go along with it.

Deep inside the present, underneath all of the gifts, is a card which reads: ]

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Sonia-chan! This Santa's deemed you worthy enough of a royal present, and he knows all too well that you haven't been naughty this year. ♥

HOMURA TO GREED

[ In a small box that has Japanese yen wrapping (it's not real money, but it looks like it) there's an envelope that has several meal tickets along with a box of cookies.

There's also a small card along with it, saying:

Merry Christmas.

Unsigned, of course. ]

MADOKA TO KOTAROU

[ There's a box waiting for Kotarou as well! On it is a note: ]

Dear Kotarou-san,

Please have a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. Santa-san is really glad for what you've done for everyone this past year, so please keep up the good work. He also hopes you enjoy your present and will take good care of it.

[ She's not too great at this whole "pretending to be Santa" thing as you can see. But either way, inside the gift is a very non-ferocious dinosaur plushie and a bag of sweets. ]

MARY TO OTONASHI

[There's no well wrapped gift box or anything like that here. Nope, just three pieces of paper with one of those stick-on bows taped to the top sheet.

Each piece of paper has a picture on it. One is drawn in crayon and shows what is meant to be Otonashi at a concert, but it's just an awkward picture of him with music notes drawn in all over the place. Another is painted and shows Otonashi and Mary making a pinkie promise (with ridiculously long pinkie fingers). The last one is done with cut out shapes of felt and other materials to make a picture of what looks like Otonashi wearing a santa hat... But you would really have to squint and maybe tilt your head a bit to get what it's meant to be. But hey, she tried!

Sadly there isn't a tag or anything else to say they're Otonashi's or that Mary made them, but hopefully the pictures should speak enough for themselves that it's easy to tell who they're for and from.]

CAIUS TO MAKOTO

[For his first ever Christmas, Caius thought long and hard on what to Makoto for a present. He doesn't know much about him, so that made it a little hard to come up with something, but in the end he settles on something pretty good. In his own opinion anyway.

Under the tree will be a large box with a tag stuck to it. His handwriting isn't the best, but the message on the tag reads: "Merry Christmas. Thought you might like this. Now you'll never get lost in the dark."

In the box is a torch which looks as though it would need two hands to carry it. Luckily it comes with a stand so you can set it up on the ground and not worry about having to lug the thing around too much. The bigger the present then the better it has to be, right? Right!]

KOTAROU TO ACCELERATOR

[For a while Kotarou was going to go with getting Accelerator a teddy bear and a basket of food, but even for the sake of a joke he thought that would be a little too stupid. So instead he settles for getting him a can of brown hair spray instead. Yes, perfect.

But since it's Christmas and all, Kotarou goes out and finds a more serious present as well, a pair of fingerless gloves. They seem pretty good quality, and they looked cool when he tried them on, even if they were a little big for him. But they should fit Accelerator fine! ... Hopefully.

Both presents are tied up in a small sack because there's no way he could be bothered with wrapping paper and bows and all that stuff. Inside the sack is a card with Accelerator's name on and the words "Merry Xmas" written in big, block capitals.]

UMI TO ISHIMARU

[Umi's gift consists of two things. The first is a smart looking winter coat, folded neatly and wrapped up in a box. The second is a Christmas cake covered in cream and fruit, all carefully packed into a box with a card attached to the top of it. The card reads:

"Ishimaru, Merry Christmas!
I hope you find some use for the coat, with the way weather works here there might not be snow or even cold temperatures for a very long time. I hope it's in your size too! Enjoy the cake and all the other gifts you'll be getting this year. Try not to eat it all at once!
Best wishes, Umi"

Yuri to Riki

[ Riki's present is intentionally wrapped to look completely different than what it is. In fact, she wrapped it up to try to make it look like a Christmas candy.. But it's not, no.. it is a pair of hand made cat ear headbands. Riki and a friend can engage in kitty adventures.

Basically she had no idea what to get him but he seems like the kind of cutesy moe guy who would get into weird stuff like this and also likes friends.

Yuri's not the best at gift giving, sorry Riki. In fact her special Christmas message on the note:

Go wild Christmas. In English. ]

Ichigo to Homura

[ Unfortunately, Ichigo didn't know Homura. So she'd had to ask Madoka what sort of sweets she liked, but Madoka didn't know either. It was from that day forward that Ichigo made herself a promise. THIS DAY WOULD BE THE DAY THAT SHE WOULD MEET AND BEFRIEND HOMURA.

There is no escaping destiny, Homura-chan. You can't turn back the time on this one.

Oh no, Ichigo is staking out her present to make sure that she figures out just who Homura is. Once Homura gets it, she can open up the cute little box and see a dessert quartet! A Monte blanc, a slice of passionfruit charlotte, a green tea spongecake slice (with matcha mousse), and a chocolate mousse inside of a balloon-style shell with strawberry slices on top. Not knowing what sorts of things Homura likes means hitting various bases-- and Ichigo's pretty sure she covered them all. Now it's just time to stalk her and see which one she reacts best to. ]

KOTAROU TO NAOI

[Kotarou only knew so much about this guy, and that he didn't leave much of a impression on him sans his totally weird God-complex. So, he worked with that and what he had. The gift was wrapped to Naoi, a small one at that with a mixtape inside.

"I know how much you love being God, so I made you a collection of music in celebration of your...holiness, I guess. Sung by me of course. I've been told I'm pretty good with music. Also, there's a song about squid in there. I dunno why. Guess I really do like them. Anyway, there was a voice modifier on my phone, so it had to be put to work. Imagine it sounding like your favorite band.

In any case, I put a lot of love into it. So I hope you can use it for your opening ceremony as a God amongst us. Credit me!

HINATA TO BERTHOLDT

[Bertholdt? That was the tall, sweaty guy, right?]

[Obviously, the answer was to make a new friend by making these two traits easier, right? So, Hinata got some iron-on letters and a massive t-shirt... decorating it in a totally helpful way.]

[But wait! Sitting on top of the shirt in the gift bag was a full set of sweatbands. Certainly Bertholdt would be as excited as the guy on the sweatbands box, right?]

[As proud of himself as he is, he doesn't come forward to claim himself the gift giver... He's going to see how the reaction is first, leaving the gift under the tree and sneaking away to stand unassumingly at the snack table.]

LEVI TO ICHIGO

[Levi, pointblank, knew nothing about Christmas. He'd been given Ichigo's name and a brief description but it didn't make sense to him. He didn't get why he had to give someone a gift (on his own birthday no less,) nor did he know what to get Ichigo. Still, she'd been kind to him all year he'd been there and he assumed he should get her something she liked.]

[What did women like? Zoe liked books, new glasses, and practical things... and stranger things, but he probably couldn't find something like that in this place. Petra liked coffee, practical things... flowers? While trying to think of a gift, Levi had realized that the women in his world really didn't have a lot of choice in the matter of their tastes and hobbies. It didn't help any of his problems, either.]

[He does know that Ichigo has been training with him lately, and liked walking out in the woods (which scared him a little, if he were honest,) by herself. So when he comes up to Ichigo the morning of the gift exchange, boots still in their box and a ring of fake flowers he found in the store set on top of it.]

Here. Maybe you'll stop trippin' so much.

BERTHOLDT TO UMI

[When Bertholdt had been given Umi's name for "secret santa," whatever that meant, he'd had to first find out who Umi was (after realizing Umi was a name of a person,) and had since worried endlessly over what to get the girl he didn't know. Bertholdt had no idea about what girls liked or wanted, and he definitely didn't know what to get someone he'd never met. So he'd ended up going the practical approach of spending hours in the store in town looking for things a girl might like that would be useful to her.]

[So a present ends up there for the young woman, wrapped carefully in plain paper and tied with a ribbon. It's a journal, plain and simple, with a small card tucked under the ribbon that says "for Umi, from Bertholdt". He doesn't think much of his gift, so he turns to leave as soon as he's set it down on the presents table.]
