WHAT: School Festival / Arriving in the Afterlife!
WHEN: 9/30/2012. Morning through evening.
WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!

No matter where it is you woke up, if it's near buildings the sounds of merriment are all around. The shouts of people rooting for the winner of a game, students trying to pull in attention for their booths, adults laughing as they trip over themselves during a sport or someone screaming at the haunted house...

It's then that you realize you're at some kind of festival, everyone's invited, and no one seems to be bothering with money.

Then the realization that you're not even in your clothes. What the hell is this outfit? A school uniform? A janitor? A store clerk? Waitress?

No, no, the bigger question is deinitely "What the hell is going on and where am I?" With nothing but forest and mountains visible in the distance, it's kind of--

It was so like the boy from her past. The nostalgia welled up inside. She closed her eyes and let the warmth of his palm temporarily sooth her. Although so much had changed this was still, undeniably, the person who had always tried to protect and sooth away her fears.

"I'm fine," She said after a moment. Her own hand lifted to curl around his fingers, and she gently removed it from atop her head. Though not without a small squeeze.

She had to pull herself together. Whatever had happened, for better or worse, she couldn't afford to let herself break down here. With a small umph she pushed herself up from off the ground and dusted off her skirt.

"I feel uneasy, about the fact that Zero is suddenly human again with no explanation, and that I myself no longer possess the power to do what I once could."

The absence of Artemis, admittedly, had her on edge, too.

"Although no one has stepped up to the plate to reveal themselves yet, surely someone very powerful must be behind all of this." Even if it was true that they died, the place that they were in now could not be run on its own. And she still questioned the words that she had heard from others. This was the kind of thing that they would need to explore themselves.

"I want to find something to protect myself with. Even though it might sound weak, coming from a pureblood, I don't feel comfortable without something tangible in my hands." That had never changed, even when she had hoped that by becoming a vampire it would banish her fears. What a beautiful delusion. Zero, too, would likely benefit from the extra protection of a weapon. They just needed to find something.

With a breath, she extended a hand, and held it out for Zero to take. Whatever fears she had at the moment, she wanted to bury them within and move forward with her head held high.

"I don't know who is responsible for this, but I want to get to the bottom of it. Although it may not be related to that person, this is still a goal that Zero would like to see achieved, right?"

Her eyes moved to stare into the pale violet that watched her in turn. She had to hope that there was something - anything - that could right things.

"If our objectives are still in alignment, would you work together with me as an ally once more, Mr. Future President?"

[instrumented]

Zero watched Yuuki for the moment. Watched as she sifted through her thoughts, putting the necessary ones behind her for the time being, while organizing the goals for the present. He watched as the melancholy truths settled, making way for what new answers needed to be found.

All of what she said was true, and things he could only agree with.

He watched as she rose to her feet once more, and stood her ground with a new found strength.

"It may be the fault of more than just a person, or group," Zero finally commented, looking upon her.

The offer she made was more of the Yuuki Zero remembered. More so his Yuuki, than the confused one he had drink his blood.

So of course he would work alongside her. How reminiscent of home it was.

He took her offered hand. "Yeah, I will."

School is optional if you're truly alone. Like me. I don't have to go to school. Never did. I don't even have a uniform on, see? Ha.

It's illegal to not go to school where I come from, at least until you're a certain age and by that time, you're almost finished so why wouldn't you? Anyway, just because I was alone doesn't mean I was going to drop off the face of the planet and not make something of myself. When you do something like that, it's just like giving up on trying to improve things or make up for your mistakes.

What so nobody got taught at home? [ playing around on the bass since he's holding it. saaaaad depressing jingles. awww yeah. ] It's not giving up on trying to improve things if the improvement would be you not being around. ...Not that that would apply for you but just an example. It's not always the case.

[ Honestly, she doesn't want to accept her death. It feels like all her efforts fighting for the ending she desired had gone to waste. Usually, she would wake up to start another cycle. Why was she in this world now?

...Neither do I. When a death comes suddenly, sometimes it's difficult to recall the memories from that time. It's like when some ghosts wander the world, unaware that they're dead.

[Accelerator slouches forward and stares down at the ground. He doesn't really believe in ghosts and so on, but after the things he saw in Russia, he knows there's more to the world than just what science can explain.]

My best friend's name is Satoko. She's my age, has short blonde hair, and wears a pink top. My other friends are older than me.

[ Lifting a hand up, she tries to demonstrate how much taller they are compared to her. The rest of her friends are teenagers. ]

Keiichi has short brown hair. He wears a red vest. Rena wears a white dress and a beret. Mion and Shion have long green hair... they're twins. All of them are usually very loud and lively.

Not generally a good option if you want to get into a decent school. Anyway, improving yourself works a lot better than disappearing, idiot.

Why would you need to get into a decent school if you already learned everything at home? [ waves hand ] You can't improve if you die while attempting improvement. Yeah.

In case you actually want to use what you learned? Parents aren't great teachers, they only teach you the things they understand and unless they're geniuses in every subject, you're screwed. Getting into good schools is how you get good jobs, too. [ Yuri rolls eyes. ] You're still here which means you're still capable.

My mom taught me and I started and ran a trillion dollar company. [ head. tilt. ] ... buuuuut I guess you're the expert in knowledge and how to get great jobs, right? [ shrug ] I don't think I can improve what I needed to though. It kind of requires being alive.

That was probably a lot of luck and hardwork and you were your own boss, if you want jobs that you have to have legitimate education to even get hired for you have to have a diploma to show for it nowadays. [ Shrugs. ] Improve yourself as a person, not the world around you.

I mean sure you want a doctor with a diploma but- eh. Whatever. We're not getting jobs here. It's irrelevant. [ slouches ] Not the world, huh? Hmph.
