WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!

No matter where it is you woke up, if it's near buildings the sounds of merriment are all around. The shouts of people rooting for the winner of a game, students trying to pull in attention for their booths, adults laughing as they trip over themselves during a sport or someone screaming at the haunted house...

It's then that you realize you're at some kind of festival, everyone's invited, and no one seems to be bothering with money.

Then the realization that you're not even in your clothes. What the hell is this outfit? A school uniform? A janitor? A store clerk? Waitress?

No, no, the bigger question is deinitely "What the hell is going on and where am I?" With nothing but forest and mountains visible in the distance, it's kind of--

[ Chihiro does know this particular classmate is dead, but... he's still confused for everything- Chihiro doesn't remember that he died. ]

Um, Leon Kuwata... he's around here. Have you met him?

[Otonashi thinks for a moment, trying to recall whether or not he knows the name. Instead though, he shakes his head.]

No, I don't think so. The name doesn't really ring a bell.

Oh, okay. He might be at the baseball field right now.

[ Nevermind that Leon apparently hates baseball. ]

Oh, really? Is he joining the game they're having?

[superhacker]

Probably. I don't know why he wouldn't. [ Pff... ]

Is he into baseball then? [He can already imagine Yuri harassing him to join a team...]

He is! Kuwata-kun is the best baseball player in Japan. [ And he looks like he's not even joking about that. Totally serious. ]

He was, but... he then retired from it, I heard.

It's probably not my business asking, but... if you don't mind me doing so, how come?

I'm not sure about the reason, but... I think he wants to be come a rockstar or something like that.

That's a pretty big career change.

I know... but that's his new dream, so there's nothing wrong in pursuing it... right?

[brotonashi]

[He nods.] Right. Yeah, there's no problem with that. It's just a little surprising, you know?

I was surprised, too. But if he's happy with that, I can't object to it. Though I would rather he kept playing baseball, he's so great at it...

[brotonashi]

Well, whatever he enjoys, I guess. It's nice of you to let him do what he wants, though. But hey, he could always play baseball casually here, right? Maybe you can even play with him.

[superhacker]

P... Play with him? [ It's something he never considered. ] But I never played it...

[brotonashi]

Yeah. I mean, if he's a friend of yours, it'd be fun to play it with him, wouldn't it? Even if you've never played it, it's not that hard to pick up on.

He could... teach me, but I'm not sure if he'd like it if I asked.

I just have the feeling he won't like it... He reacted badly when we talked about baseball, earlier.

Hmm... Well, if you think that, maybe it won't be a good idea to push it.

[...buuut] ...But if you want... Maybe I could teach you how to play myself?

Yeah, of course! I mean, I'm not the best baseball player, but I think I'm still pretty decent, at least. So I wouldn't mind teaching you. It could be fun, too.
