SPORTS FESTIVAL

WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: Just what it says on the tin -- sports festival!
WHEN: April 8th - 10th
WHERE: All around campus! Particularly in the gym, sports/soccer/archery fields, tennis courts, and pool. The school's map is over here for reference.
WARNINGS: Unless the games are getting competitive, there probably won't be much violence...! I mean, it's not like we're playing rugby...
SUMMARY: Sports festival! Details here!

Remember those sports festival sign ups last month? Well, the days for said festival have finally arrived! All around campus (obviously in the sports-related areas), various competitions for various sports are going to be held. Track dashes, marathons, baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis, archery, swimming, kendo... you name it! Each event will be held at different times, with breaks in between to allow for any spectators -- whether they're game characters or NPCs -- to go watch 'em all. It also allows for characters wanting to participate in more than one event to do so.

There are also numerous decorated food stands around the event areas with light snacks and beverages for players and watchers. If people want to make signs to support their favorite teams, they can even do that at certain tables with sturdy sheets of paper, paints, and markers!

Finally, at the end of each day, there will be a fireworks display, with the largest one being on the final day (the 10th). On that last day, winners and MVPs for the competitions will also be announced! And each of those winners will be receiving a prize! Players on each winning team will all receive extra meal tickets. As for the MVPs, they will get a gaming system! A Gameboy in particular. Pretty neat, huh?

On the note of winners, we will be having polls for MVPs (most valuable players)! That will come toward the end of the festival, though. For now, anyone having their characters participate in sports events as players should drop a comment/fill out the form over here! That's also where any questions regarding this event can go.

Also, as a side note, the events under each day are listed in chronological order (morning, afternoon, late afternoon).

[ Haruhi Suzumiya isn't the type of person to miss out on any sports festival events. Of course, she's won all of the sports events back in North High. And she's going to do exactly the same thing here. Her motivation is clear, and there's no way she's going to lose, even if she is wearing the strangest outfit ever.

Because screw the rules, she can wear whatever she wants.

oh yeah, someone like souji here, who has been known to be very handy with his hands. come on with someone with sword practice and work you should expect him to have joined the club when it opened. he is here to help represent the club here.. it's all on his shoulders now..!

maybe not really, but do come say hello before the match. or even show up as his next opponent. ]

POOL - SWIMMING

[ OKAY SSS. INVASION TIME! Yuri kicks the door in right before the swimming competition is about the start, dressed brazenly in a simple blue bikini (anything more complicated than that would probably slow her down). It's not common that she participates in competitions like this-- but she wasn't going to pass up an excuse to wear a swimsuit.

Behind her would be any of the SSS members who stuck to their mission and followed her in! ]

[For Yosuke, the first day is pretty much spent spectating and cheering on his friends, but that doesn't make the fireworks at the end of the day any less awesome. It's a chance to relax that's a lot more exciting than the usual lazing around campus (at least when the NPCs aren't harassing them), so this is totally welcome. He's mostly just chilling, probably snacking on things while watching the display, and occasionally harassing people, whether he knows them or not. Sports festivals are supposed to be fun and everybody is dead, so he'll do his best to make sure his fellow barnacles afterlifers are having fun, too!]

DAY TWO - APRIL 9TH

[ She tried. About 0.2 seconds after the go signal was made, however, she tripped and fell face-first into the dirt. ]

TENNIS COURT - TENNIS

[ Yuri didn't sign up for tennis, but she's participating anyway because why not she's stupidly good at a lot of sports. Of course, she just kicked whoever was on the court off to take his place. ]

GYM - BASKETBALL

[ what do you mean souji is in too many sports clubs. there is no such thing as too many in the afterlife, rude.

but yeah, he's here, his confidence is just kinda mandatory but he has no doubt some certain better players are likely to win for this competition.

that doesn't mean he isn't going down without a hard fight. yo other competitors, teammates, audience, etc. where you at. ]

[ here's the thing: akashi doesn't like boring matches. if there was a proper team match-up, it would be easy enough to let his teammates do all the work for him. since there's not, he spends a good amount of time looking over the court seriously, folded arms and all. for someone who leads a basketball team, he doesn't seem very enthusiastic about the sport.

on the other hand, he will actually try to teach any basketball team members some strategy during matches! and probably take it easy with them, otherwise. he's not expecting any national level basketball playing, here. ]

[ Ichigo came mostly to cheer on her bffs Akashi (self-proclaimed) and Kise. So she's looking for the two of them with a plate full of bite-sized lemon tarts for them when they're done. Lemons are refreshing for after playing and a lemon tart has to be that plus ten times more delicious right? So she's standing near the bench or trying to, since she's not supposed to be down there to try to find them. ]

[Aside from the swimming that Otonashi has been dragged into thanks to Yuri and the SSS, he's also participating in the soccer match...! At least this one's his own choice, but yes. Once hearing that his roommate was going to participate, he figured he should give it a shot as well! Couldn't hurt, right?

Which is why he's hanging around the soccer field, waiting for the game to start and yeah. come bother him.]
