WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Potential violence, but since everyone's already dead it's not like it matters, BUT FOR THE MOST PART HUNKY DORY PG! So PG+V? That works.

No matter where it is you woke up, if it's near buildings the sounds of merriment are all around. The shouts of people rooting for the winner of a game, students trying to pull in attention for their booths, adults laughing as they trip over themselves during a sport or someone screaming at the haunted house...

It's then that you realize you're at some kind of festival, everyone's invited, and no one seems to be bothering with money.

Then the realization that you're not even in your clothes. What the hell is this outfit? A school uniform? A janitor? A store clerk? Waitress?

No, no, the bigger question is deinitely "What the hell is going on and where am I?" With nothing but forest and mountains visible in the distance, it's kind of--

[Ah, yes. He's glad he didn't dig right in. All around him are other contestants, just about gagging from the prank.]

You're just really observant then. I guess that's good, but it might just mean you're paranoid enough to notice. So were you a conspiracy theorist? A secret agent? Mafia?

[instrumented]

. . . I'm none of those. [to come out as a vampire hunter, or not. . . HMM.] I'm observant, as you said, and have sharp senses.

Well yeah but barely anyone's observant because they're observant-- Unless you're Sherlock Holmes!

[ Wild theories like she doesn't care. It's obviously wrong and she knows it. ]

[Try several thousand years after the destruction of civilization.

I woke in this place without any idea how or why. Nothing here is familiar. [. . . except the existence of ramen. u_u]

Oh. You died, that's why. This is an afterlife.

[Ugh.] So I've been hearing.

What's the proof? I wouldn't have forgotten dying.

I'd prefer it in words. I don't trust promising anything to you.

[at least not right away. He doesn't trust anyone.]

If I say it in words there's no guarantee you'll believe me. But, as an example..

[ Yuri takes her hand up to her mouth and bites the side of her index finger hard enough to make it bleed. There's no way it wouldn't hurt, but it doesn't seem to bother her too much besides some tiny hints of wincing. High pain tolerance. ]

Give it a few minutes and something this small will heal right up. You could get chopped into a million pieces and it'd work just the same, though it'd take a little more time.

[Having spent most of his time around vampires (particularly of the noble class and higher) and hunters, both of who have varying levels of accelerated healing and regenerating, to some degree, the display doesn't surprise him too much.

However, he still is a bit wary. ]

Regeneration, then. . . [a frown knits his brows]

So, you're telling me that everyone here is capable of that sort of thing? [a beat or so; he''s growing curious] . . .would it be correct to assume everyone is human?

Everyone who's human is dead. Everyone else is just.. fake. They're shaped like people, they talk and act like people, but they're not real people. They're like well-programmed robots, minus the wires.

[instrumented]

[that frown only increases.

He just has to ask, now]

And what about those who woke up here who weren't human at their homes? They simply become one, now that they're here?

[tenminutes]

[ Wait. ]

So you are an alien!?

[instrumented]

I'm not a damn alien. [Sigh. (Oi, oi.) ]

Apart from humans where I'm from, there's also vampires and vampire hunters.

[tenminutes]

So you're a vampire? [ Vampire hunters are probably human she assumes, so he'd have to be a vampire. ] Why aren't you bursting into flames or sparkling?

They can tolerate the sun, too. They don't burst into flames.

[He goes quiet for a few moments after that. Zero isn't one to lie, so, Yuri's getting the truth.]

I was born a hunter, however also was turned into a vampire later on. But. . . [another pause; a bit of a frown crosses his expression, still confused with the situation.] When I woke, here, I was no longer a vampire.

That's good though, isn't it? Ramen tastes a lot better than blood.
