WHAT: School Festival / Arriving in the Afterlife!
WHEN: 9/30/2012. Morning through evening.
WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Potential violence, but since everyone's already dead it's not like it matters, BUT FOR THE MOST PART HUNKY DORY PG! So PG+V? That works.

No matter where it is you woke up, if it's near buildings the sounds of merriment are all around. The shouts of people rooting for the winner of a game, students trying to pull in attention for their booths, adults laughing as they trip over themselves during a sport or someone screaming at the haunted house...

It's then that you realize you're at some kind of festival, everyone's invited, and no one seems to be bothering with money.

Then the realization that you're not even in your clothes. What the hell is this outfit? A school uniform? A janitor? A store clerk? Waitress?

No, no, the bigger question is deinitely "What the hell is going on and where am I?" With nothing but forest and mountains visible in the distance, it's kind of--

You too, huh? Well, I guess knowing it turned out fine for you is somewhat of a relief for me.

Yep. I'm sure you'll get them back in no time. [a pause.] ...Though for me, it was done through someone using hypnosis.

Hypnosis, huh? So they didn't come back on their own then?

No. I'm pretty sure they would have eventually though. I'd say I could offer getting that person to help you out too, but I haven't seen him around here yet.

How long would it take, you reckon? And what, did he disappear? Yurippe mentioned that happens sometimes...

No idea, for both questions. I don't know anyone else who came here without their memories, so I couldn't really say. And I'm not sure if he disappeared or not. The only people I've seen today who have been here for a while like me are Yuri, and this other girl, Yui. I haven't seen anyone else yet.

Only Yuri and Yui, huh? ... And I'm guessing there's a lot more than just three people here, right?

Yeah. Way more. Definitely over fifty, but... I haven't seen any of them yet today.

Three out of fifty... doesn't sound like the best statistic, even with all the other NPCs and stuff around.

Exactly. It... has me a little worried. But I guess I should just hope for the best, right?

You can always hope for the best, just make sure you're not setting yourself up for disappointment.

Well, no, but they could have disappeared. In fact, from what I last remember, Yui already had disappeared, so I'm not sure why she's here in the first place. [Assuming that pink haired girl he saw was really her, of course.]

Well, that's a lot of people to disappear at once...

Exactly. I mean, at the time, loads of people were disappearing already, but... somehow, this just doesn't look like the same thing. Something feels off.

So, the mystery thickens, huh?

[sigh.] Pretty much. I just hope it gets solved soon.

And I'm guessing this festival came from nowhere too?

[A nod.] Yep. I didn't even know they could have festivals like this here.

Well, a festival is a pretty ordinary thing, so it makes sense to have one if this place is trying to be an ordinary school...

That's how it would seem, anyway. They normally don't have stuff like this though, despite that.

Huh... Well, I haven't really been here long enough to offer my own insight.

It's fine. I'm sure we'll figure it out eventually. Or I hope so, anyway.

Right... The festival will probably be long over well before we figure out what the deal with it was.
