WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Potential violence, but since everyone's already dead it's not like it matters, BUT FOR THE MOST PART HUNKY DORY PG! So PG+V? That works.

No matter where it is you woke up, if it's near buildings the sounds of merriment are all around. The shouts of people rooting for the winner of a game, students trying to pull in attention for their booths, adults laughing as they trip over themselves during a sport or someone screaming at the haunted house...

It's then that you realize you're at some kind of festival, everyone's invited, and no one seems to be bothering with money.

Then the realization that you're not even in your clothes. What the hell is this outfit? A school uniform? A janitor? A store clerk? Waitress?

No, no, the bigger question is deinitely "What the hell is going on and where am I?" With nothing but forest and mountains visible in the distance, it's kind of--

You can't get sick, so there aren't any hospitals. You can't die again, so if I shoved you off of the roof you'd be okay in a little bit.

[ Looks over the edge ] What do you mean 'in a little bit'? Would it hurt? [ He pauses then makes sure to take several steps away from that edge. Just in case. ]

Of course it'd hurt. But you'd get better like it never happened.

[ there's a brief pause where he pinched himself. just double checking. you died stop pretending it's a dream. ]

Would 'proving it' involve pushing me off the roof? Because if it does no. Thanks but no thanks. I'll take your word for it.

Not sure yet. You're older so.. [ As she looks around off the roof, she points at the town, almost hidden by the trees from this angle. ] That's new.

They renovated the afterlife?

I guess so. I either time traveled or have been memory-snatched. I don't remember some people here, but there are a few who remember me anyway and the people I do know aren't here.

Why would you be memory snatched? That seems a little ridiculous. It's the afterlife... what would be the point?

If I knew why, I'd probably know how to get it back. So it probably means either something really bad happened and it decided that it wasn't doing its job and was going to screw with me or I traveled time.

None of that makes sense for a dead person. You'd think we'd all forget we died if it worked like that. Also: Time travel? Is there even time in the afterlife?

No, which is why this is all stupidly confusing. We can't even age here.

No but I'd imagine if you stay here long enough and never be happy because nothing can get fixed ever, you'd on the inside.
