Sleepovers!

Who: Everyone is invited!
What: Sleepovers!
When: Saturday night.
Where: Boys are in the , girls are in the SSS Headquarters.
Warnings: All kinds of shenanigans including a hot or not discussion. Let a mod know if there's anything you need to update in here as soon as it crops up! And possible violence but we have a bunch of violent buttheads here when is that ever not a possibility??

SLEEPOVER IN THE SSS HEADQUARTERS!

Girls only, September 14th. BYO Mattress and we'll lay them across the whole floor and it'll be like a bounce house but with mattresses! Food and drinks provided. Entertainment will include making fun of the boys, rating them on various factors, laughing at really embarrassing stories, horror stories, and basically anything else you can think of. Also kicking any perverts who come near the sleepover in places they won't appreciate. PJs only.
BOYS ONLY! SLEEPOVER IN THE GYM

The girls think they can have a sleepover and leave us out of the fun, but they're wrong! Join the Boys Only sleepover on the same night as the girls' for a great hang-out time! Food and drinks will be there. There'll be games too! And we're TOTALLY NOT GOING TO SPY ON THE GIRLS NO SIRREE.

QUICK LINKS
Obviously anyone can get into any event-- it's not like there's security besides the people at the sleepover. But be careful! If you get caught, who knows what horrors await those who are found sneaking in to a sleepover they weren't invited to!

Some do. Most do eventually. It's not completely uncommon for some people to forget everything including their first name, especially in cases of head injuries.

And... what about you remembering someone else's death as different? Or having not happened at all?
tenminutes: (The hand I'm going to bitchslap him with)

[personal profile] tenminutes 2013-09-20 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
I've never met anyone here that I've met when I was alive, so I can't really say for sure on that.

Hm.... I will say that there's some discrepancy that comes up with the deaths of those from our world.
tenminutes: (I'm going Simon Cowell on your ass.)

It could be a case of delayed memory recovery. For example, say they had a near-death experience and then their memory blacks out so they assume that's where they died.

That's what I thought, too.

Another theory I've had is if those shadows can implant false memories as well.
tenminutes: ('Cuz I'm not.)

[personal profile] tenminutes 2013-09-20 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
They can definitely implant false memories. When they hallow you out they have to put something back in or you won't function as a normal student. When it happened to me, I even had a best friend in class. Her name was Hitomi. She's a real NPC on campus, too. She still says hi to me even if I completely ignore her.

[ Yuri seems to think this over for a moment, but there are a few things that don't match up according to what she does know. ]

My problem with that hypothesis is no one's seen a shadow since you guys got here. The NPCs have been acting weird, but they haven't gone into that form lately. Plus, the idea of the shadows is to preserve people until conditions come that they would be capable of disappearing. Then the last thing... Well, it's more a matter of having to trust ourselves. If you're questioning their memories, they could just as easily say that yours are the ones that are wrong right back.

Exactly so. In which case I'd say things have to be solved through acquiring our various testimonies of a larger sample. If more memories matched up, we have more reason to presume a common event occurred. Of course, with so few of us the outliers would not be discarded. I do follow a rule of threes-- me, Erwin, and Christa seem to share a similar recollection of who has died or not; I wouldn't push that fact aside. I'll have to clarify with the others with a similar question later. Unless... Hm. This might be hopelessly optimistic for those of our world but--

Do you know of any instance of someone who, in life, died at an older age yet appeared here as if they were in their youth? For instance, if the individual was focused on themselves or their deeds as young and the powers-that-be here saw to give that individual a youthful form and memories in order for them to achieve complacency and disappear.

[ She points at Hange's chest. ]

That's not your physical body. We're literally souls right now, our physical bodies are off rotting somewhere or.. in some peoples' case probably being digested or burned or whatever happens. But since it's a soul, I'd imagine if the memories are missing then the form itself would be somewhat malleable. I don't have any proof of that, of course, but I wouldn't say that it's impossible. [ Yuri lowers her hand, bringing it up to her chin as she thinks. ]

There's another possibility that goes a little sci-fi in terms of parallel universe possibilities, but who knows.

[personal profile] deviantlyhates 2013-09-24 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Aaaah... I'm still trying to wrap my head around the concept of having a soul. [ S...so unscientific!! ]

Mm, but-- 'sci-fi'?
tenminutes: (What do you mean personal space?)

[personal profile] tenminutes 2013-09-25 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Obviously we do or we wouldn't be here. [ You can make stuff out of dirt, science is wack here. ]

Science-fiction. It's a genre of literature, movies, things like that. It mostly focuses on like.. high-tech stuff that's beyond what actually exists. If this place was mentioned in your world, it'd probably be considered sci-fi until it was proven to exist.
deviantlyhates: (f: you the bestest)

[personal profile] deviantlyhates 2013-10-01 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I see! Yes, that makes sense. It has almost everything beyond our technology. This is device in our house called a microwave-- I'm sure many from my world would have thought it magic if it appeared back home.
tenminutes: (That was a joke. Get it?)

[personal profile] tenminutes 2013-10-02 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Basically! It's pretty literally named though, it just uses waves that are micro to heat things. Don't put anything but already-dead food in it though.
