It was Halloween, otherwise known as Hallow's Eve. And the stage was set for an amazing party, otherwise known as the extravaganza of the year. Haruhi had it all planned out: there were booths decorated in orange and black, balloons that looked like pumpkins, ghosts, and witches, games and prizes galore, live music, and so much more.

Sure, people may have 'died', but you know what they say: the show must go on! And go on, it shall. In front of the doors to the auditorium is an orange carpet and a rope blocking the entrance.

So, come on, relax, and have some fun!

[One veil holder, coming up. When you have hands this size it doesn't take much for him to just grab the whole veil in a clump in his hand.]

Like I'm gonna tear it just from something like this, I'm not even holding onto it that tight!

[He's barely done anything and she's already on his case wow THIS IS DISCRIMINATION.]

Yeah, but it's really thin. It's not like it's a highly professional veil, I'm sure it'd get torn if I walked into a hanger with it.

[ Oh well. ] Have you ever bobbed for apples before?

[Well, he doesn't know what a professional veil would look like. Or what a hanger is. But after hearing something that he takes a moment to fold the veil back a little more neatly rather than just grabbing the whole thing in his hand.]

No, never. It's not something I ever did back home. As far as I know we don't even have Halloween in the first place though.

[There's a lot of the world he never got to see, so perhaps it's a thing on another continent he just never visited.]

Halloween's kind of a weird holiday. It's celebrated mostly in Western countries, but it's fun to decorate so we did it in mine just for decoration.

Weird is right. Seems like the only point of it is to put up loads of scary stuff, dress up and eat sweets.

[And seeing as he isn't a fan of sweet things or scary things, yeaaaah. This holiday isn't for him.]

I'm pretty sure that's the point of it nowadays. There are pumpkins too.

It doesn't sound that great when you say it all out loud like that, huh? [...] I'm still enjoying the party and everything! But... Yeah.

It's mostly just for fun, that's all.

And that's fine! It feels good to be able to have fun with your friends every now and then. [There wasn't much chance for that sort of thing back home, bar the occasional conversation or game he played with everyone while they were resting.] Even if you're having fun with them at some creepy holiday party like this.
