It was Halloween, otherwise known as Hallow's Eve. And the stage was set for an amazing party, otherwise known as the extravaganza of the year. Haruhi had it all planned out: there were booths decorated in orange and black, balloons that looked like pumpkins, ghosts, and witches, games and prizes galore, live music, and so much more.

Sure, people may have 'died', but you know what they say: the show must go on! And go on, it shall. In front of the doors to the auditorium is an orange carpet and a rope blocking the entrance.

So, come on, relax, and have some fun!

[MADOKA NO YOU CAN'T BECOME THE HOPE FOR SKELETONS. YOU CAN'T SOLVE ALL YOUR PROBLEMS BY BECOMING THE HOPE FOR THEM... Become the hope for paintings trapped in art galleries that want to go outside.]

Uhm, okay. [... Well, back to the game! That wasn't awkward at all!] So you pin the head back on the skeleton, like you're giving his head back to him. And then you get a prize...?

[She has been spoiled by all of those festival games and their fabulous prizes.]

[ Do you want her to die for you, Mary.. ]

I don't think you get a prize.. [ Do you?! She assumed this was just some random party game to spend some time having fun while you're here.. ] .. Um, unless you consider the happiness of giving poor skeleton-san his head back a prize! [ Madoka's just about as lame as educational tv. ]

[Well it's either that or they become sisters. Know what sounds like a great day out? A trip to the art gallery to see the Guertena exhibition. Make sure Madoka brings her younger brother...]

Oh... [Wow, lame. Someone change the channel.] But it's still fun anyway, even if you don't get a prize for playing, yeah?

[ Don't make Homura revert the timeline just for you!! ]

Hmm, games are always fun! Why don't you try it first, Mary-chan? [ She's already holding out the skeleton head so Mary can grab it to play. ]

[crayoned]

['Just for you' huh, wow. Mary is totally worth a timeline revert. Just one. Give her another chance!!]

Oh, okay! [Games are always fun, she can't fault Madoka there. She takes the skeleton head from Madoka and looks at it for a moment...

... Then she walks over and pins it to the picture of the skeleton on the wall. And. That's it. Does the fun start now or what? ... Madokaaa, the game is brokeeen.]

[ .. Mary..

Mary, please. What is she going to do with you. It's a good thing Madoka's so patient and forever polite.. ]

Um, Mary-chan.. that's not how you play the game. [ She's saying it a little hesitantly since she doesn't want to hurt the girl's feelings, but on the other hand, the game won't be fun this way! ]

... I didn't think I was playing it right. That wasn't fun, not even a little.

[Also if Madoka called her over to help with a game that simple/boring in the first place she wouldn't know what to do. It's a good thing that there's more to the game than just pinning things up!]

So what do you have to do to make it fun?

You have to do it without looking! .. Um, here, they have blindfolds! [ She points at them. Madoka wasn't using one since her costume is practically one big blindfold after all. ]

And then you have to spin around so you won't know where the skeleton is anymore. The fun is finding it without seeing it.

Hmm, okay. So first I need the blindfold!

[Mary goes to pick up a blindfold and brings back over to Madoka. With the skeleton's head still in her hand she's going to need some help tying it.]

Can you put it on for me? [Don't knock her witches hat off while you tie it Madoka, that thing makes her costume what it is okay.]

Of course! [ She giggles and gives a nod before she takes the blindfold. Madoka is at least careful as always in putting it on Mary - it might take a little bit longer than most people, but at least she's making sure it's not too tight on the girl.. ]

.. There. You can't see anything anymore now, right?

[crayoned]

Yeah... [She tries to squint through the blindfold to see if she can see anything, but nope, all she can see if the blindfold in front of her eyes.] I can't see a thing.

[... This isn't the fun part, right? She's not sure if she likes this. Not being able to see sucks.]

Okay, now.. here's the skeleton head again. [ Giving it to her.. ]

Are you ready to be spun around a little now? I promise I'll be gentle..!

[crayoned]

[She takes the skeleton head and-] Spun around? In a circle? [UHM.] ... I'm ready when you are, Madoka.

[Well at least Madoka said she would be gentle, but still... The thought of being dizzy and not being able to see doesn't seem all that fun in her mind.]

[ Don't be a spoilsport now, Mary.

Madoka gently reaches over to grab Mary's shoulders and lightly spins her around a few times! Nothing bad, okay, Madoka's way too nice for that - just enough to make sure Mary doesn't know what direction the skeleton is in anymore. ]

Hehe, there. Now you have to find the skeleton to put the head on it.

[crayoned]

[Oh god which way is forward.] Okay, here I go...!

[Mary shuffles forward with her hands out in front of her as she tries to find the rest of the skeleton. Is she getting hot? Warm? Cool, maybe? ... Nah, she's stone cold and probably going to miss the skeleton by a mile at this rate.]

Ah.. M.. Mary-chan, you're cold, really cold!

[ .. Of course Madoka doesn't realise that maybe Mary doesn't understand the terms you use when someone else is trying to look for something.. ]

No I'm not!

[She feels pretty warm?! Madoka she can't see and she's dizzy, stop distracting her!

Oh. She managed to find the wall! Albeit by walking into it, but hey that's progress. Now where's that skeleton? Her free hand pats the wall as she tries to find the skeleton so she can pin its head back on...]

No.. I.. I mean, you're cold! If you're going to the right like that, then you're cold! [ Since the picture is a good distance to the left of her.. but Madoka isn't exactly being the best at explaining it right now, huh. ]

So... So I need to go left if I want to get warmer?

[Well okay then. She realises now that Madoka is trying to give her a hand, though wouldn't it be easier just to say 'go to the left' than telling her she's cold?

Anyway, Mary sidesteps to the left. And again. And again- Found it! Her hand brushes up against the skeleton on the wall, so she quickly finds the skeleton's head and pins it down where she thinks it should go.

Right on the skeleton's shoulder.

Mary claps her hands together and spins around, trying to face Madoka but ending up looking off in some other direction instead.]

There, I got it! How did I do?!

[happyends]

[ ...

Ah.

There's that awkward moment in any adult's life when they have to decide whether their kid doing something completely wrong is something that should be fully praised or maybe at least a little corrected before they hang onto that belief for the rest of their life.. and here Madoka is only fourteen and already has to do this. Why do you do this to her, Mary. Why. ]

Um.. you did pretty well, Mary-chan..!

[ It's not a lie, right?! On the shoulder is pretty close!! ]

[crayoned]

I did!? Yay, I thought I did! I can take this blindfold off now, can't I?

[Even though she's asking, Mary is already pulling the blindfold away from her eyes so she can see how well she did.

... The shoulder isn't where the head is meant to go.]

Oh. I didn't think I put it there...

[She seems really put out seeing how she did. And here she was thinking she had at least managed to get in the neck region of the skeleton.]

[ Oh gosh no.. now Mary is disappointed what did she do wrong.. at least Madoka manages to keep herself from fully panicking and instead tries to cheer her up, stepping closer to her. ]

It's okay! Look how close it is to where it should be! I really never would've gotten that close. [ She shakes her head a little, smiling. ]

[crayoned]

Really, you wouldn't? [Hmm...] This is a really hard game, and if you couldn't have gotten as close as I did... Then I did really well, didn't I? And it was my first time playing too!

[Cheering up: Successful! Good job Madoka, now Mary feels a lot better knowing she's done better than Madoka without her even taking her turn yet.]

I wanna see how you do now! [Just to see if what Madoka said checks out.]

Me? Um.. okay! I'll try my best!

[ She gives a nod before dropping her costume a little more over her again so she can't see anything.. the pros of having a ghost costume, obviously. ]

Can you give me the head then, Mary-chan?

[crayoned]

Here you go! [She pushes the skeleton head into Madoka's hands, just to make sure she's holding it properly. It's hard to do things when you can't see okay, Mary knows.]

And now I get to spin you around, right? You won't get too dizzy, I'll make sure you won't!

[Before Madoka can get a word in, Mary grabs onto Madoka's costume and starts to spin her around and around and around... You can see where this is going.]
