It was Halloween, otherwise known as Hallow's Eve. And the stage was set for an amazing party, otherwise known as the extravaganza of the year. Haruhi had it all planned out: there were booths decorated in orange and black, balloons that looked like pumpkins, ghosts, and witches, games and prizes galore, live music, and so much more.

Sure, people may have 'died', but you know what they say: the show must go on! And go on, it shall. In front of the doors to the auditorium is an orange carpet and a rope blocking the entrance.

So, come on, relax, and have some fun!

[He's still peering at her, until he lets out a tiny smile and pulls away, letting out a small laugh.]

I was just wondering if you were actually telling the truth. Not many kids my age stay around with me...I've been alone for a long time, you know. It's nice having someone to male friends with. [Yep, he's...some sort of sick.]

[This is... All starting to hit really close to home. Mary isn't sure how she's meant to feel about this, maybe it's just an effect of the spell? Hmm. All the more reason to try and fix things sooner rather than later.]

Uh, ummm... You're a lot older than me. [She can kind of see why no one his own age would want to stay with him-- Ahem.] But okay, we can be friends I guess. It's no fun being lonely for ever and ever.

I thought we were the same age. [He seems to be musing out loud.] ...wait, how in the world did I get this tall in the first place...did you do something to me? [He's saying this to himself, but her words do hit home as he lets out a good smile.]

It's not fun. I've been lonely for a while, because some jerk kept taking my sister and all my friends away. That's why you won't leave, right?

No, you've been this tall the entire time. I haven't done anything to your height! [-Just your brain, apparently.] But I'm not gonna leave, so...

[Reverting the spell doesn't count as leaving him, right? She would rather not leave her new friend now. But maybe if she fixes things and makes friends with him again she could end up with two friends for the price of one, or something like that.

Okay. She's going to do it. Time to fix everything before she's asked anything else about leaving him or making friends. Mary mumbles to herself for a few seconds as she repeats the magic words to herself to make sure she says this right. She wouldn't want to say them wrong and mess things up even more!]

Uh, so... Arbadacarba! [There, that should fix things now...!]

[A small smile comes right before the spell. It looks a little too genuine, even for him. But once the spell does hit, he seems to be hitting the floor face first once more, a puddle of drool forming around him.

After a few minutes, though, his seems to be getting up once more, looking around him with a little curiosity, before his attention turns back to Mary, his usual deadpan face coming back.]

Oi oi, did you use another spell on me? I told you, being Satan's plaything isn't healthy. I don't know if you'd enjoy it either, so don't make me say "Abracadabra" on you. In fact, let's do that instead.

[He unsheathes his sword and points it at her, saying:] Hocus Pocus, Abracadabra, Alakazam...those are the magic words, right?

[WHY DID HE SMILE LIKE THAT it only makes her think she really screwed up even more when he hits the floor again. He was happy. And then she killed him again. She's an awful witch...

She contemplates tapping him with her foot again to see what that does, but then he gets back up! And he seems to be back to how he was before!]

I did, 'cause you were acting all different and I thought I could fix you! But then- [Suddenly, sword being pointed at her.] Aah?!

[She flinches and hops back... But nothing happens.]

Samurais can't use the magic words!

[He frowns a bit, unsatisfied at how his failed magic spell went out. He sighs for a moment, sheathing back his sword before moving on to point a finger at her.]

It was just a test, don't mind me. I was wondering if I was a magical samurai, not your typical one. [Not minding the fact that he was actually trying to curse her, but...he's already tilting his head.]

...but what's this about me acting differently? I don't think I've left my head one bit. Or I did, but I don't remember it.

[A magic samurai? How ridiculous. Only witches who get their magic words printed on the packaging of their costumes can use magic. Really now.]

You were acting weird! Uhm... You were talking about your sister, and not having friends and... Something about not being a samurai yet even though that's what you're dressed up as.

[She's already forgotten some of the things Souga was talking about during his little spell induced adventure, but what he said about friends and his sister are what stuck with her the most out of what he said.]

[Hey it can totally be possible in his world. There were exorcist samurais, beam saber samurais...! Though he wasn't ever around for any of that.

Though what she says does make him cringe a little bit. Ah, did he really say all of that? No, he couldn't have, she's making things up. There's no way he'd spill the beans on that really quickly, so he's just waving a hand at her.]

Ah, must've been your imagination. Or my imagination, based on what spell you put me under. Maybe you made me into a little school boy with no friends that was going to keep a friend of his forever locked up in his closet. Would you want to be friends with that?

[That's in Sougo's world, that doesn't count! This is the afterlife okay!

But no, she's pretty sure she didn't just imagine all of this. In fact she's positive she didn't. Perhaps... Perhaps her spell was really that good? She's going to have to keep this costume in her wardrobe in case she ever needs to use these spells again.]

I didn't do that, you were still a samurai! [Still looked like one anyway.] And... If I was friends with someone like that I'd make them promise not to put me in the closet. Then they couldn't do it unless they broke the promise and we'd be friends!

[And if they did go and break it, well, guess that makes them not friends! Maybe.]

[PSHAAW okay maybe the afterlife does act way differently then his own world.

But whatever it is, he's still giving her a look that says "what are you even saying, kid".]

Well, they wouldn't keep their promise in that case. What if they did actually lock you in that closet? What if they turned out to be some stalker that admired you from far away? Would you be willing to make friends with someone like that?

[He can already think of a certain ninja that acts that way to a certain silver haired shamurai...]

...you must have some weird friends, in that case.

If they really did lock me in a closet yeah, then we wouldn't be friends! If they really wanted to be friends without doing that though then I don't see why we couldn't be friends...

[Sadly Mary doesn't know all that much about stalkers and being admired from afar. But it sounds pretty nice, being friends with someone who admires her, so she sees no problems with this.]

... You're a meanie. [ >:( ]

Ah, I see you have your priorities set straight then. [A small shrug.] Of course, if someone ever did happen to lock you up, I can teach you certain ways of getting out of that situation.

[Poor Mary...Sougo would try and explain it further, but right now he's just going to let it off. But he's already leaning in and poking her on the forehead.]

Oi oi, you're going to hurt my feelings if you say something like that. I thought we were friends.

[But he is a meanie! Calling her friends weird, questioning how she goes about making friends who lock her in closets, all very mean things.]

We are friends, I think! ['She thinks' only because so far things have been pretty confusing between. What with the magic spells and the saying they're friends and the spells wearing off and... Yeah. Confusing. But she would like to be friends anyway, maybe!?] Just because I said you're a meanie and you poked me doesn't make us not friends, friends do things like that and become better friends all the time!

[She read a book about friends that said friends can argue and still be friends okay. She knows how friendship works.]
