WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!

No matter where it is you woke up, if it's near buildings the sounds of merriment are all around. The shouts of people rooting for the winner of a game, students trying to pull in attention for their booths, adults laughing as they trip over themselves during a sport or someone screaming at the haunted house...

It's then that you realize you're at some kind of festival, everyone's invited, and no one seems to be bothering with money.

Then the realization that you're not even in your clothes. What the hell is this outfit? A school uniform? A janitor? A store clerk? Waitress?

No, no, the bigger question is deinitely "What the hell is going on and where am I?" With nothing but forest and mountains visible in the distance, it's kind of--

I'm pretty sure punching NPCs in the face would only be a temporary relief thing.

Don't hurt the NPCs they don't have anything to do with this, they're just there. I meant the big guy upstairs. If you've got a real problem you want solved, you take it to the top, right?

Hm. [ glances up ] I guess. Have you seen the big guy?

Then... How do you know there is a big guy? Maybe it's a bunch of little guys.

It's a metaphoric big guy, not a literal large male.

It could be a lady. [ waves a hand ] I'm just saying is, maybe there's nobody to complain to and it's a self-sustaining system. What do you fight?

If that's the case, I'd count the system as god.

Well! I see. If you need help completely destroying it come get me later. I'm great at destruction. It's my thing.

You can't get sick, so there aren't any hospitals. You can't die again, so if I shoved you off of the roof you'd be okay in a little bit.

[ Looks over the edge ] What do you mean 'in a little bit'? Would it hurt? [ He pauses then makes sure to take several steps away from that edge. Just in case. ]

Of course it'd hurt. But you'd get better like it never happened.

[ there's a brief pause where he pinched himself. just double checking. you died stop pretending it's a dream. ]

Would 'proving it' involve pushing me off the roof? Because if it does no. Thanks but no thanks. I'll take your word for it.

Not sure yet. You're older so.. [ As she looks around off the roof, she points at the town, almost hidden by the trees from this angle. ] That's new.

They renovated the afterlife?

[tenminutes]

I guess so. I either time traveled or have been memory-snatched. I don't remember some people here, but there are a few who remember me anyway and the people I do know aren't here.

Why would you be memory snatched? That seems a little ridiculous. It's the afterlife... what would be the point?
