It was Halloween, otherwise known as Hallow's Eve. And the stage was set for an amazing party, otherwise known as the extravaganza of the year. Haruhi had it all planned out: there were booths decorated in orange and black, balloons that looked like pumpkins, ghosts, and witches, games and prizes galore, live music, and so much more.

Sure, people may have 'died', but you know what they say: the show must go on! And go on, it shall. In front of the doors to the auditorium is an orange carpet and a rope blocking the entrance.

So, come on, relax, and have some fun!

[ And Yukki arrives! ... in the most boring, lazy costume ever. Indeed, it just looks like he took a sheet, cut out some holes for eyes, and put it on over his head. The weakest ghost costume ever.

[ When Haruhi notices Yukki (and even though she doesn't know who is under that sheet just yet), he'll notice some annoyed eyes glaring right at him.

Even though she's dressed up as Snow White, she most certainly isn't the fairest of them all. ]

... You could have at put some effort into your costume. I mean, come on, a sheet? There's even a costume store nearby and you did this?! It's so annoying! Maybe I should kick you out right now so you can go get a better costume at least.

W-Well... what else would I be? I am, we are dead.

[ A totally half-assed justification, but the truth is he's just not as creative in costume-making as he could be in so many other things. This ain't the Survival Game. This is Halloween. ]

Where would I even get one?

[ There's a deep sigh coming from her. She knows who this is now, at least. ]

There's a convenience store nearby that's selling costumes. Look, I'll even show you.

A-Are you sure? I don't wanna keep you from the party...

It's fine, it's fine. I am the host, after all! Besides, if anything happens, I'll just punish them twice as much!

O-Oh... well...

[ he starts removing the sheet. Underneath, he's just wearing his usual outfit, sans the orange coat. ]

Then... if you wanna go, we can.

[How have we gone this long without them running into each other here--luckily for you though, Reisuke doesn't recognize you under your bedsheet ghost costume yet. Reisuke himself is covered up in a tiny grim reaper-like costume with a hood and mask covering his face, but Yukiteru may or may not recognize his voice when the kid suddenly jumps out in front of him, arms raised out towards him to try to scare this person a little--]

Boo! [...And he'll dissolve into giggling afterward, whether it actually manages to spook the ghost person or not, sorry Yukiteru. ^^;;]

G-Gah!

[ Seeing things in black robes shouldn't scare him anymore, but this does. He almost falls backwards, but manages to catch himself on the table with the punch bowl. Which, thankfully doesn't spill.

The voice - and the terrified yelp - should be familiar to Reisuke. ]

C-Careful, you could hurt someone in here doing things like that!

Huh? [The giggling immediately stops for a moment upon hearing the other speak. That voice sounded like...]

...Yukki onii-chan? [No way, that couldn't be Yukiteru Amano, The First, under that bed sheet, right?]

[ Did... this person just call him... ]

R-Reisuke-kun?

[ But... well, he did die in the Second World... and Yuno has been here twice. It shouldn't surprise him to run into him here, but it just seems like whoever runs this place likes messing with him when it comes to people from his world. ... Worlds. ]

Is that... you under there?

[At first he's not sure how to react--if the First was here, normally that meant The Second, Yuno, would be in very close proximity. And normally that would be a major cause of concern. But he hasn't heard so much as a peep out of her during his stay here so far, and Yukiteru is standing here by himself. Did that mean Yuno wasn't here?

There's a second's hesitation before he reasons that it's pointless to pretend otherwise or run, so he nods, reaching up to temporarily remove his mask and reveal his face. Thankfully, Reisuke doesn't seem to be in one of his crazier moods just yet, as he's genuinely surprised to see Yukiteru here at the moment.]

What are you doing here, Onii-chan? I thought you were still playing in the Survival Game...

I was.

[ He's not going to say that he won. To him, there is no winning. At best, it was a Pyrrhic victory for him, losing Yuno and everyone else. Except, technically, Minene, and arguably his world's Murumuru. ]

It wasn't worth it. Nothing like that can ever be worth it.

I would call it lazy, but the idea of a dead person dressing up as a ghost is actually pretty funny.

[ Her tone is completely even, like she's not going to laugh but she does find it funny.. Her costume is a little more detailed though. ]

[ Oh. Oh, wow. Yuri... definitely looks gorgeous in that outfit. ]

Yuri, I-- [ Well, it should be obvious who is under there, now. ] Um... thanks... for liking my costume, I mean.

What are you getting all weird and shy about?

[ She can't see his face with the sheet, but she knows that voice. He's cut himself off a couple of times, normally she'd tease him but... without being able to see his expression, it makes it harder to gauge if she's going too far with teasing or not. ]

N-Nothing! I-I mean... nothing...

[ Thank God for this sheet. He's blushing profusely. ] U-Um... how... were you here all this time? I just got here.

What do you mean all this time? I got here when it started, that's all.

O-Oh... well... I just got here... I didn't mean to be late!

I hope Haruhi isn't mad at me.

[ Yukki, when you're going to dress up as a ghost, at least go all the way.. or, well, Madoka's ghost costume seems a lot more convincing, at least. But despite the fact that his costume isn't the best, when she accidentally bumps into him, she still lets out a yelp like she's run into a real ghost. ]

Is it bad that I think that journal name is incredibly ironic in this context?

[ The first thing that catches his eye is the pink hair, red eyes, and a flash of a red hair ribbon. But that voice... is definitely not Yuno's. This girl could easily pass for her younger sister, though. The similarities made him hesitate for several seconds, while he stupidly blinks his eyes to regain his composure behind the seat. ]

Umm... s-sorry... [ He backs up, trying to put some more distance between them. ] I didn't mean to walk into you like that.

[ She shakes her head, nearly causing her costume to plainly fall off her, but she grabs it just in time with a tiny relieved sigh. Phew, that could've ended more badly than it did. It's just that her apology comes so instinctively.. ]

I'm the one who bumped into you, I'm really, really sorry.. [ She even bows for him now. ] Are you alright..?

XD Survival Game is no picnic either, but this is awesome.

[ He tries to wave off her apology as unnecessary, but it just looks like awkward flailing. ] I-I'm fine! Really. It's okay. ... sorry.

[ Oh gosh, he's still apologizing. Now she feels bad since he's apologizing, it's a downward spiral.. Come on, Madoka, think of a way out of this-- ]
