WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!

No matter where it is you woke up, if it's near buildings the sounds of merriment are all around. The shouts of people rooting for the winner of a game, students trying to pull in attention for their booths, adults laughing as they trip over themselves during a sport or someone screaming at the haunted house...

It's then that you realize you're at some kind of festival, everyone's invited, and no one seems to be bothering with money.

Then the realization that you're not even in your clothes. What the hell is this outfit? A school uniform? A janitor? A store clerk? Waitress?

No, no, the bigger question is deinitely "What the hell is going on and where am I?" With nothing but forest and mountains visible in the distance, it's kind of--

I told you, you look like a Jared. You called yourself "Mister Once-ler" anyway right? That implies it's your last name.

The Once-ler. It's not a Jared Once- ...You know what I don't even care. Fine.

Why not? It's your first name. [ She pauses. ] Come on, we need to get to the roof. [ This key doesn't match anything in the school, which can only mean they need to see what the hell is there now that could possibly have that kind of key. ]

I know but don't call me that. [ He looks around then back at her. He should go be alone like he's supposed to. Why is she bothering with him?

If she starts heading to the roof he'll follow. ]

[tenminutes]

[ She'll do him one more on top of heading that way, she's getting behind him and placing both hands on his back to push him. ]

Once-ler then?

[thneed]

Once-ler. [ Looking over his shoulder at him while he walks ahead ] What are you-? Would you stop pushing me? I'm going.

You seem like the kind of guy who needs a push in the right direction.

[ Mostly because you've been arguing this whole time and the way Yuri picks is definitely the right direction. ]

[ He's taking that to mean a bit more than she probably did. He always goes in the wrong direction, doesn't he? He even went in the wrong direction in his sleep in a river.

He made a face and stepped a bit ahead of her so she'd stop ]

[ She finally stops pushing him and starts to go ahead. ]

I'm going to go over the rules while we make our way up there, got it?

[ He's following behind, head and shoulders down. He'll look up every now and then to take in the surroundings. Who knew dying would end up complicated. ]

If you're here, it means some tiny part of you wants to keep fighting to make things right. I don't now what happened to you, but everyone here's been through something and they've been through something bad. So if you're here and you're going to pull the grumpy "I just want to be alone" act the whole time, you're going to end up alone, miserable, and you'll probably stop existing eventually.

How are you supposed to make things right if you're dead?

Do I look like I know? Mine's impossible to do, being stuck here is like God's laughing in my face.

Don't hurt the NPCs they don't have anything to do with this, they're just there. I meant the big guy upstairs. If you've got a real problem you want solved, you take it to the top, right?
