Day 1: School Festival

WHO: Everyone!
WHAT: School Festival Day 1
WHEN: 9/28/3013. Morning through evening.
WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Should be PG-13 for language and possibly violence because there's always someone. But should mostly be fun & fluffy. Let me know if anything changes.

POP POP!

The crisp crackle of confetti cannons going off signals the start of the school festival around 10am! The whole school has been preparing for the month beforehand and an excited vibe seems to be fluttering through the whole afterlife! There are games, cafes, performances-- all sorts of things! There's definitely got to be something that'll tickle your fancy. There are no classes today, the dining hall is closed, and it looks like there's just a huge, fantastic festival going on.

For being dead, it sure seems lively!

[Prior to when he had to go backstage to prepare, Hinata would be out in the crowd enjoying the show. So often during these shows he'd been outside maintaining the perimeter, so it was nice to be able to relax and actually come and watch.]

[Wallflower? Absolutely expect him to try and rope you into the excitement. Life of the party? He's definitely going to want to help!]

B.
[When it was time for the last song of the show, Hinata would jump into the Hare Hare Yukai with spirit, grinning like an idiot as he performed as one of Haruhi's backup dancers. Although... maybe he was a little too energetic, overextending some of his leaps and gestures in comparison to the rest of the group. At least he seemed to be enjoying himself...]

[Afterwards, Hinata would be backstage still soaring on the adrenaline high, seeming in very good spirits. He'd be a little sweaty, but no less likely to run over and hug people he liked, so be wary...]

[He could be found both backstage and outside the stage area, so feel free to berate him for making an idiot of himself in front of the entire school.]

Yo, you need to work on your feeling for rhythm. Being really into it is good, but it doesn't excuse technical errors.

[ Not that he's a dance expert per se, especially not for this dancing, but hey. Concerts are a serious business.
As for Kohaku, he's still backstage, violin still in hand. ]

[He doesn't seem to mind terribly, still running on adrenaline, even grinning as he says it. Of course, it doesn't take him long to notice the violin.] You looked really into it, too!

[ If you're already going to outright call it bad yourself, what you get from Kohaku is a not. He's not exactly nice. ]

Of course. In music there's no use if you do it half-heartedly.

[That sounds like something Iwasawa would say... he smiles fondly to himself at the thought, impressed by the dedication.]

Did you do shows like this before you joined the SSS?

Not like this exactly. I was member of the royal orchestra.

[ It's weirdly paradox how he can say this full of pride. The court itself was despicable to him and so being forced to play in this exact orchestra, but when it came to talking about it, he would brag and defend it anyway. Had he been asked, Kohaku would have argued that of course the hate was stronger than any sense of belonging, but in truth he didn't quite know. ]

[Luckily for Kohaku, Hinata is appropriately impressed.]

R-royal orchestra? Wow... [Forgive him as he stares in awe for a second.]

I guess this is kind of beneath you then..? Haha... [Hinata enjoyed pop music and the like, but he was also kind of white bread about a lot of things.]

[ Kohaku's certainly not gonna mention that the royal orchestra mentioned is the unofficial version consisting of delinquents and madmen, psh. They're still kickass musicians though. ]

I'd certainly rather be playing orchestral music again... But I guess, it's good to have a use for my music here. Holding concerts again and shit.

Well... Does anyone else here play orchestral music? You could probably put together a band...

[It certainly wouldn't be the first or last time some ragtag musicians grouped up in the afterlife.]

Nah, apparently not. It's a fucking shame. There's one guy who used to play violin, but mostly stopped, and that's that.

If there were more musicians I count on Haruhi or Yurippe having tried to recruit them here - two musicians and one person who can't even play here is not exactly the ideal casting for this band either.

Ah... [Hinata would help out, but his extracurricular activity of choice was baseball, so the only musical experience he had was with rhythm games and he suspected that that didn't count.]

[Well, it couldn't be helped.] Couldn't you play solos? I'm sure people would come listen...

Hmh, that's as good as simple practice, really.

I can play anywhere, so in the end it doesn't matter so much.

These concerts aren't all bad to fill the boredom.
