Day 1: School Festival

WHAT: School Festival Day 1
WHEN: 9/28/3013. Morning through evening.
WHERE: All around! Mostly at the school, since it is a school festival!
WARNINGS: Should be PG-13 for language and possibly violence because there's always someone. But should mostly be fun & fluffy. Let me know if anything changes.

POP POP!

The crisp crackle of confetti cannons going off signals the start of the school festival around 10am! The whole school has been preparing for the month beforehand and an excited vibe seems to be fluttering through the whole afterlife! There are games, cafes, performances-- all sorts of things! There's definitely got to be something that'll tickle your fancy. There are no classes today, the dining hall is closed, and it looks like there's just a huge, fantastic festival going on.

For being dead, it sure seems lively!

I can't throw properly if you're making me laugh, it's hard! [See, that last ball ended up missing the target by a mile! Instead it bounces off the bars in front of Leon with a metallic clang.] Aww, I'm nearly out of balls to throw...

Except that last one isn't mentally at all, he is just screaming like a little girl when it hits the bars. ]

WATCH OUT WHERE YOU THROW THAT FUCKING BALL!! [ Yelling and cursing at little kids, what a role model. ]

[... Wow this guy is being way too loud. And shouting at her. Its not funny anymore. When there were other people sitting in the tank they weren't making as much noise at this!

Still holding onto the last ball she has left, Mary walks right up to the tank so she can talk to Leon. And hopefully so he won't keep screaming back at her.]

You're not acting like the other people who playing before were. They were saying things like 'is that it' and 'is that all you're made of', not like you. Am I playing the game wrong?

[ .. The ball is coming so close.. so close.. Mary, check your ball privilege, seriously. At least he's not whimpering as much since she doesn't seem like she's about to throw, but still.. ]

N.. no, I just-- shit, I just hate all of this! Yurippe didn't tell me in advance she was gonna make me do this!!

[She isn't going to throw it man, calm yourself-- OR IS SHE- Nah, she wouldn't do that- YES SHE WOULD HERE IT COMES-- Hahaha, no, she's still holding onto it.]

Oh, Yurippe set this up? [SHE'S THROWING THE BALL-- Nope. Still holding it.] She's my friend, my name is Marippe.

[Friends are wonderful distractions from the icy, baseball related doom that awaits Leon, aren't they?]

[ It's not. Nothing can distract him right now. It's like there's nothing else in the universe except for him and the ball. The ball that stands for his upcoming doom, for everything that went wrong in his life.. sweat is definitely trinkling down his neck at this point, man, this is everything he never wanted. ]

What kinda shitty name is that?! [ He's a little more snappy than usually since he's so on edge.. ]

... It's a nickname, Yurippe told me about them so I gave myself a nickname too. My real name is Mary.

[Or is her actual name shitty as well? She's still holding the ball you know, things can head south pretty fast if Leon doesn't watch himself.]

[ Alas, if only he was a little smarter once he's gotten emotional, but he just loses all sense of reason by then.. ]

You can't just do the same thing and say it's a nickname! Not all nicknames end with "ppe", y'know!

But I really like that kind of nickname, it sounds really cute. I don't know what else you can do when it comes to nicknames anyway. [...] Do you have a nickname?

[Maybe she can get a better idea of how nicknames work by asking that! At least she doesn't seem as though she's going to be throwing that baseball she's holding anytime soon.]

[ Phew..

Maybe he really is saved here. For once. But his eyes honestly still follow the ball, like he doesn't trust it there at all.. it's eventually going to end up against him, he just knows it! ]

Of course not, my name's already cool enough so I don't need any dumbass nicknames.

[He's right for not trusting it. This ball is out and out malicious. Why if Leon knew the sorts of things it was saying behind his back...]

[ It's saying that he isn't punk rock, huh?! He's onto that damn ball...!! ]

It's Leon, of course! Leon, so I have a cool western name even though I'm Japanese! Just imagine it in neon letters everywhere..

Leon Kuwata in concert!! [ Yes, he's yelling it. ]

[Huh, what's that? Leon did what? Really? Wow mister ball, how scandalous... Tsk tsk.]

Leon. [...] I'm gonna pick up some more balls and try winning again, okay?

[SORRY LEON but you said a bunch of stuff she didn't really get and then you started shouting again. Plus its payback for calling her nickname shitty.]

[ ...

Wait, what?

It literally takes a moment for him, so it's almost comedic how he blinks, like he's slooowly starting to realise, and then he actually starts deflating pretty quickly mood-wise. ]

W.. wait-- n.. no, don't do that, shit..!! I.. I'm begging you!

[Wow, Leon changes his tune so fast. It's almost hard to keep up with all the sudden mood changes.

Mary stops reaching for one of the baseballs mid-grab and straightens up, turning back towards the tank.]

Will you say my nickname is cute if I don't? If you do I won't throw any balls, promise!

[tsunball]

[ More like he's an incredible coward.. ]

F.. fine..

[ He'll do anything to not have to deal with bals again, so he takes a deep breath. Damn, this is humiliating, but if it's the only option.. ]

Y.. your nickname's cute.. it's adorable!! It's the cutest shit I've ever heard of in my life!

[Aww, you're so kind Leon. Or at least he's kind when it comes to baseballs being thrown at him anyway.

So, like she promised, she won't be throwing anymore balls. In fact, Mary even makes a show of lifting her arms up so the few baseballs she was holding onto fall to the ground.]

[ ...

There's a brief moment where he's still shaking with nervousness, but then the balls are dropped to the floor and he lets out a bigger sigh of relief than he ever could have thought he would. Man, scariest moments of his afterlife right here. ]

[Enjoy your brief moment of peace Leon, the fun isn't over yet.

Though she might have promised not to throw anymore balls, that doesn't mean she intends to give away her chance to 'win' at this dunk tank game. All she has to do is hit the target, right? Like with something else she could pick up and throw. Or her hand? Or her hand.

And so, in what could probably be seen happening from a mile away, Mary runs forward and presses the target on the dunk tank with both of her hands. Boop!]

[ And with that, Leon is very unceremoniously dumped. Right into the ice, ice cold water.

The scream he lets out at it (it sort of sounds like some sort of really crazy chicken) can be heard all the way into the living world, probably. ]

Yay, looks like I win at last! Ahaha!

[THAT SCREAM. Excuse her for a moment while she laughs. A scream like that shouldn't be this funny, but it is!]

You're really funny Leon!

C.. c-c-cooold.. it's fucking f-freezing! Dammit, Yurippe did thiiis...!! It's all you g... g... guys' faaault!

[ Enjoy the show, Mary. He'll be splashing in the ice cold water like a panicked chicken while screaming for a while. ]

[And it enjoy it she will. Hah. Hahaha! ... But after Leon flaps around and screams for a little while longer it gets a little repetitive. Does she get a prize now? She didn't see any prizes, but she wouldn't mind getting more plush toys to add to the collection she ended up making today.

Unless this is her prize? Yes, the prize must be getting to see someone fall in, duh. She would've preferred a toy or something, but ah well. Once she's had her fill of watching Leon, Mary wanders off without another word when another game caches her eyes. The booth over there has a blue doll as a prize and she wants it. Mary out.]
